It is incredibly dense and has a terrible value. There is almost a fudge consistency to it. Nut pieces are a nice touch, giving the food a good flavor. In terms of flavor, I gave it four out of five. The giftability of the item was rated as a 3. Giving a homemade baked good or a fruit cake is similar to giving a gift. The rubric cube is the same size as this. It doesn't measure up to the size of a loaf, round or otherwise. I gave it a 2 for value since it's small. The price tag of $200+ is more than the cake itself can bear. Don't buy this if you are expecting a loaf of date nut cake! The only way I was able to give it 3 1/2 stars was to give it a 4.
The Datenut bread is served from a can every Thanksgiving. My mom slices it up and serves On top, we would spread cream cheese. That was such a good meal! It was no longer possible to purchase datenut bread in this way. The childhood memories I wish to bring back have been eluded me for a long time. This is the result of my research. Though I haven't tried the product yet, it seems like a good deal for the price. Hopefully, it will be good and will give you that warm fuzzy feeling again! Once I have used it for a few weeks, I will let you know.
I'm 78 years old and I'll never buy this again. My god, this is the worst I have ever heard of. It is bitter, sour, and foul. Apparently the monks have lost their sense of taste, as I cannot figure out what they are doing.
The delivery of my parcel occurred in December of last year. In the past, I've bought this brand and enjoyed it a lot. I felt this year was not up to par as usual, despite it being good. It had a strong ginger flavor, and not many dates were found in the body of the cake. The date flavor was quite subdued. Next year I will try to get into the program again!.
Date nut cake was really on my list of things to look forward to. It was a big Neither the dates nor the nuts tasted good to me. There is too much ginger in this dish. Drying it out and throwing it away was not an option. The cake was a waste of money and cake.
It's really good but not my favorite dessert. I know ingredients are expensive, however I find it to be the best Christmas cake I have ever tasted and far superior to any others. I cannot afford to pay $30 dollars for a one pound cake, so consider it a donation to the Trappist Order.
The product was quite sweet, which I found to be a bit too much. I was expecting something else from a cake made with dates, but what was I expecting? When I put a small piece in my bento box, it was a nice little dessert. Having it cold was also better for me than having it at room temperature. It is without a doubt my favorite product from Trappist Abbey Monastery. The quality of the product is excellent. My taste is not satisfied by the amount of nuts.
I totally rip you I cannot believe how small it is. I am not happy at all. Amazon is where I buy most of my stuff. I have been disappointed by my purchases so A heavy weight. Almost like date nut bread, but more like fudge. This was thrown away because it had a bad taste.
