Questions & Answers

What method of decaffination is used for this tea? Are you going to use CO2 or chemicals?

According to what I've read, the chemicals used in the decaffeination process aren't good for you. It's preferable if it's processed with water rather than chemicals.

Is this suitable for making iced tea?

Yes, treat it as if it were a tea bag. This is one of my favorite decaf teas, and I use it to make sun tea all the time.

Do the tea bags come in individual packages?

No, the teabags are not individually wrapped and come in a box. If desired, Yorkshire tea can be purchased in individual packages. Take a look at the description of the item.

Is the date of expiration more than a year away?

The most recent batch I bought had exactly a year on it; the batch prior to nine months- However, the freshness and flavor of the tea have never let me down. Also, because I haven't ordered in a while, I can't comment on how shipping is going or what's now being shipped in terms of expiration date since the lockdown.

Surprisingly good; I drink Yorkshire Gold on a regular basis
5/5

Unfortunately, my heart can only take one cup of caffeinated tea at a time these days, so I've been looking for a good decaf English Breakfast Tea. br>br>Being a Yorkshire Gold fanatic, I automatically compare and contrast all black teas to that standard, and I can't tell you how many times I've bought packages of variously branded decafs only to throw the entire box in the trash. br>br>Now THIS tea, Yorkshire Decaf, is the first that hasn't ended up in the trash. This is without a doubt the best-tasting decaf English Breakfast Tea I've ever had. br>br>While this decaf version lacks the flavor of Yorkshire Gold, it's still pretty tasty. The best part is that it doesn't have a bitter aftertaste.

This tea is fantastic
5/5

In the mornings, I drink regular Yorkshire tea, but during the day and evenings, I usually have a couple cups of hot tea and must use decaf tea. Most decaf teas are extremely weak, and as someone who grew up in England, I prefer a strong cup of tea steeped for several minutes. You'd never guess this was caffeine-free! Unlike regular coffee, decaf is imported from the United States. As a result, allow for some extra time for delivery.

I'm a tad disappointed
3/5

I guess I prefer teas that are a little stronger. The flavor of this tea isn't very strong. There were no unintended consequences. I like the flavors, but they aren't very strong; I usually use one bag of another tea instead of two of these. br>Part 2br> I've found that stirring the tea bag in the hot water helps to extract more flavor. It's possible that the batch I received is out of date. br>They also ship from the United Kingdom, so it won't arrive immediately, but rather over the course of a week or more. Fortunately, I have a habit of planning ahead, so I didn't go without a cup of coffee in the morning. br>Part 3br> Three teas were tasted by America's Test Kitchen. The tester stated that some teas with a higher tannic content should be served with milk (and, of course, something sweet). Less tannic teas, on the other hand, were better served without milk, according to them. Although the batch I received did not have much of a taste, it appears that the milk offsets the tannic taste. br> I tried it without milk or sweetener. It tasted as if it couldn't defend itself any longer. The tea appears dark, but it is lacking in robustness. I don't believe bitterness equals robustness, and neither do I. I'm not a big fan of bitterness, as some people are. That's why I don't drink beer and instead prefer ciders, which should have a floral note and be sweet. At least in this batch, neither are present in this tea. br> The reason I keep adding to this dialogue is because there are 160 teabags in this box, and I'm cheap and determined to suffer through it all, but I also want to see if the tea can be saved in some way. Do you have any recommendations? Of course, at ten cents per bag, it's a bargain. br> It is currently housed in the project house, which smells like an old house under construction. Against the sawdust and old insulation, the stench is less noticeable. In fact, at the project house, I use a smaller cup, so the flavor seems to come through more. The alkaline water we have there has a bitter taste to it, which would benefit from the addition of cream to balance it out. After drinking 2/3 of a box of 160, I now know. I still don't care for it as much as I do other teas, but it's come into its own now.

Tea that is decaf but tastes like the real thing! I drink about 5 cups of tea per day and consider myself to be a tea connoisseur
5/5

I've always enjoyed Yorkshire Tea, but the doctor advised me to "cut down on your caffeine intake. " I've tried a lot of decaf teas, and if it weren't for the color, I'd never guess I used a tea bag. This tea has the same flavor as regular tea. I love it so much that I bought two boxes of 160 bags at once!! br>It takes a week or two for it to get to me every now and then because it is shipped from England, but that's fine as long as I get it!.

A bitter disappointment in a cup
3/5

I decided to give this a try because I'm a big fan of Taylor's of Harrogate's Yorkshire Gold and I'm trying to cut down on my caffeine intake. It's a huge letdown, requiring at least two bags per cup and a shorter steeping time, but it does something I thought was impossible: it makes something I thought was impossible: it makes something I thought was impossible: it makes something I thought was impossible: it makes something I thought was impossible: it makes something I thought was impossible a sluggish cup of bitter tea I still use it because I can't afford to waste money, but I'm going back to my favorite Yorkshire Gold now that I've figured out how to decaffeinate it myself and keep all of the delicious flavor that drew me in. However, it was a good attempt.

Great decaf tea with a lot of caffeine
5/5

I am a big tea drinker. Yorkshire Gold and Typhoo were two of my favorite caffeinated teas. However, I discovered that caffeine sensitivity was a problem for me, so I switched to decaf only. For the past 25 years or more, I've always gone with Typhoo. Typhoo's tea bag packaging changed recently, prompting me to look for a new decaf tea. I experimented with a variety of decaf teas. The majority of them were flavorless or weak. I went with the Yorkshire Decaf in the end. What a fantastic find. Full-bodied, robust, and powerful. Similar to Typhoo or Twinnings English Breakfast in terms of strength.

The best tea on the market today
5/5

Is Yorkshire Gold worth the extra money over Yorkshire Red? Yes, if you don't mind a bitter aftertaste regardless of how long the teabag is left in. This holds true for every other British tea brand I've tried in my 60 years of tea drinking. Smooth and full-bodied, Yorkshire Gold is unbeatable, and the decaf is especially good after 4 p. m.

Decaf flavor is excellent, and the price is reasonable
5/5

Taylor's teas are one of my favorites. I've tried a few different flavors. The Yorkshire blend (but not the Yorkshire Gold) is one of my favorite Taylor's tea blends. I drink a lot of decaf coffee because I'm sensitive to caffeine. A good mug of tea can be made with just one teabag. I've noticed that for many brands, I have to use two teabags to get the same amount of flavor. With Taylor's/Yorkshire teas, this isn't an issue.
