The idea of reviewing this tea causes mixed emotions in me. In supporting the company's efforts, I am very impressed with what the firm is trying to do. I don't love the tea, so I'm not sure I'm a fan. Although I don't think I brewed it properly, I'm wondering if that's the problem. It has been my experiment to discover the amount of tea to use and the length of time I don't seem to have found the sweet spot yet. Either it was far too weak and flavorless or it was far too spicy. In my opinion, the tea has no bitter notes at all even in this cup that I am sipping now after steeping it way too long - that gives me hope! If you have any suggestions about amount of brewing time, we would appreciate it. A revised review has been published. There is no better tea than FTGFOP1 and all the tea I have bought (Darjeeling and Assam*) are FTGFOP1 which is the highest grade that can be found and you can tell just by looking at it and most importantly Even if they are not a family-owned business, they seem like it in their commitment to giving their customers a quality product and a very reasonable price (don't tell them, but I would easily pay twice as much). Although I only buy loose leaf tea, I am sure that all their products are of high quality and worth the dollar. They package the tea in sturdy resealable bags that keep the tea fresh for months, perhaps even years (though mine are usually gone in a few months).
