I'm an elderly person who does not follow a good diet, so I like this product very well. As part of my routine, I also take Patriot Greens every day, occasionally adding it to milk and Carnation and blending in the single serve unit of my Ninja mixer for a few seconds. Combining the two tastes is a great combination. It's hard to find a better deal on Amazon than this. My diet also includes a gluten-free diet, so I have never encountered any issues with this product. It is made on the same equipment that produces the Chocolate Malt flavor Breakfast Essentials, so I am assuming that gluten is a component of that product. It may be best not to try if you are highly sensitive to gluten, but I am not sensitive to it at all. Compared with other products of its kind, I give this five stars.
Because our nutritionist said it had the same nutritional value as Pediasure but was about half the price, we have been buying and using Carnation Breakfast Essentials ever since our son went off formula. We have to supplement his diet to make sure he gets enough proteins and calories because he has some medical needs. I hadn't tried it for over a decade. You can get a drink for $4! This stuff is the best deal for a meal if you buy in bulk. You can blend it with milk to make a good drink all the way up (as a replacement or snack). The flavor I get is the Milk Chocolate with Strawberry. As I said above, I prefer to use 12 oz of milk or almond milk rather than 8 oz because I think it is more filling and the flavor is still very strong.
