I was concerned about the quality and condition of the cookies after hearing that some of them had arrived crumbled. Mine are hot off the grill and delectable. There are sections of the tub that have a plastic seal covering them. These cookies had no chance of tumbling around, but if they had, I would have blamed the manufacturer rather than the transport. You guys did a fantastic job! My impatient @ss is represented by the rip in the seal.
Every year for Christmas, my mother made "pecan sandies. " They were crescent-shaped pecan cookies that truly melted in your mouth. Since she died, I've bought a lot of cookies in the hopes of finding something similar, but so far I've been unsuccessful. These "David Meltaways" are so similar to my mother's that I cried when I first tasted one. Finding the "perfect" cookie that my mother used to make has made my Christmas.
These are whole, half-pecans, or even large pecan pieces. The cookies are more like pecan crumbles. Not at all, as depicted. In addition, I'd say 15- 25 of the cookies were broken or crumbled during shipping due to loose packaging during shipping during shipping during shipping during shipping during shipping during shipping during shipping during I'll say they're delicious, but they're a bit pricey. For me, it's simply not worth a second look. Because I bought the David's Cookies and Brownie Family Pack - this must be a common occurrence with these David's Cookies. 5 Lb. The cookies, like these, came in a gift tin and were 30-minutes long. broken and crumbled by 40 percentage percentage percentage The brownies, on the other hand, were individually wrapped and perfect, so I give them a thumbs up. These aren't worth the money if you want to return them. At these prices, no way.
Is it possible that these are fakes? I purchased this item on Amazon because I had previously purchased a small box of these cookies from a nearby store and found them to be delicious. The cookies in this Amazon tin are not the same as the ones in the picture. As can be seen in the image: The colors aren't even close to being the same. Not the same flavor or texture because it was overcooked and not covered in powdered sugar. Maybe these are David's tin 'knock-offs'? Who knows, but the $19 was a waste of money.
You're out of luck if you really want to try the cookies. What a waste; there appears to be a tasty cookie beneath all of the sugar and cornstarch, but it's impossible to tell. I eventually resorted to scraping off as much powdered sugar as I could with a knife, but the sugar coats every millimeter of all sides of these tiny, 1-inch cookies. inch- cookies with a diameter of Taking out the majority of the sugar (and, of course, wasting a portion of each cookie) made these almost edible. Needless to say, I will not be purchasing these products in the future.
Fortunately for my neighbors, we opened a tin for a party and were able to sample them before giving them away. They were 98% broken in the first place. Second, they taste like sawdust. I'm not kidding - they're completely crumbled up with only a few remaining intact. I'll eat almost anything, but these were too much for me. Purchase these at your own risk.
These cookies are a favorite, and the packaging has been changed to reduce breakage; the cookies are now divided into four quadrants instead of two, which means there was very little breakage.
They are, however, quite fragile when it comes to shipping. As a result, they must be handled with great care. I'll buy them from Costco again because they're cheaper there. The powdered sugar coating remained intact and did not fade in color. (Because this is more likely a shipping issue than a product review, I also included the seller's contact information. ) Apart from the shipping damage, these make excellent little desserts for upcoming holiday entertaining. They have plenty of money. luscious chock- brimming with pecans It is true that they melt in your mouth.
