There was never an activation of the gift cards. It wasn't until a grateful gift recipient told us that it was a gift recipient which made us aware. During a recent work trip, our colleagues and kids' teachers were given a box of them. The recipients did not pay for their cards and were informed they were not activated by calling the number on the card. What an embarrassing situation. The idea that Amazon would sell you these, take your money, and then not activate them is pretty absurd. This is not something you want to buy!.
INVESTED IN THEM - THEY DON'T VALUE This is NOT something you should order. Following the receipt of them, I gave some out as thanks and tried to use one of them. The value of these things is zero. These cards can't be used to make purchases. It is estimated that 00 was Anger is the only emotion that can describe my feelings. The fact that I gave away some of them makes me so angry and embarrassed.
The gift cards are made from thick stock paper/cardboard. Giving these gift cards out would be a mistake, as they feel cheap, and they look cheap as well. And that's assuming you can get rid of the tacky substance without peeling apart part of the card (some of it will actually peel away as well). There is a good chance that one out of four will be incorrect Tacky will stick so well to the gift card that it will lift the surface of the card off with the tacky. If you need to get a product where they use a standard plastic gift card (such as the gift cards found in Starbucks) that's better.
My activation was however successful! All gifts were checked by me before they were given. It's such a relief to be done with that! To make sure they are good, you can run the backs of the cards on Starbucks' website and check their balance before gifting.
Made of cheap material, ruined a couple of cards because the glue was stronger than whether they were made of paper or not.
I am not happy with this at all, make sure they are all loaded with money when you get these because I am finding they are not all loaded with money. I was very disappointed when my friend went to use hers and saw they had no money on them. It is unclear how the other people did. I hope they were successful.
I just received these cards, and they're not the nice plastic ones you see at stores, but they're cardboard. Because the rubber cement that holds the cards together sort of lifts the top layer up where it made contact with the card. There are still functional clean cards, and yay for recyclability, but the cards are less appealing to give.
