The back of the card was bent and the UPC had been scratched off. He looked as if he'd tampered with it. The reason I bought it was evidently to give it as a gift, as I would never do that. There was no way to return it through Amazon. It won't be my habit to buy gift cards through Amazon in the future.
Yesterday, I was having trouble using these and was told that the old ones weren't compliant, so the new ones wouldn't honor them anymore. A customer service rep will call me back to let me know if my refund will be processed. If they do not, it will cost you $50. Probably, I'll go back to giving cash gifts at Christmas next year. This gift card is useless! There are no pin numbers to it, so you cannot use it to place an online order for pick up in store. Rapid Pick Up can only be used inside Panera stores, so your order will not be picked up in the store.
This was a gift for a friend, and I loved having it delivered directly to me, saving me from having to vist the restaurant to pick it up. was mounted onto the usual cardboard hangtag and was in excellent condition. The recipient did not encounter any issues with it being used in a different location. All in all, this is a huge convenience, and the card functions perfectly, so I would recommend ordering from Amazon.
