) and this is a great replacement watch band for it. The original band began to tear in a few places after about two years. This was an excellent substitute! It took about 10 minutes to install (due to the fact that I was; I'm not very good at that) and it works perfectly. I've been wearing this band for about a week now, and it's very comfortable and has completely replaced the broken parts. I'd buy it again if the price were lower.
One year ago, I bought this band. The only reason I returned to write a review is that I'm about to place an order for another band in a different color so that I can have more options! This band actually lasted longer than the one that came with my Garmin 645. My 9-month-old "new" watch band broke, which was extremely frustrating. I needed one quickly and this brand offered next-day delivery, so I gambled. It arrived in plenty of time for my race, and I was pleasantly surprised by the high quality. This band has been going strong for a year, having survived OCR and over a thousand miles of sweat/adjustments. I'm crossing my fingers that my second purchase will go as smoothly as the first. If anything changes, I will make a new review.
Garmin bands are ridiculously expensive; I tried this brand before on my Fenix 5, and it felt a little stretchy for that watch, so I paid the extra money for that one. br>br>Because the heavy Fenix series is impractical for actual running and workouts (forget the wrist HR), I purchased the lighter 245 (with music) and gave the Notocity bands a second chance. They've been fantastic, and at the price, I bought a few different colors to mix things up every now and then. br>br>For this watch, the quality is nearly identical to that of an OEM Garmin. A big thumbs up.
However, it is ORANGE! The orange in the photo is a lot more subdued than the bright, flourescent orange in real life. It's not quite what I was looking for or how I feel in the photo, but it'll suffice.
Despite the fact that it is made of silicone rubber, it is not identical to Garmin's. It has a firmer feel than the Garmin. Overall, it does not detract from the comfort of the watch, which I wear all the time except when charging. br>br>The most common problem I've had is with the band slipping out of the watch band loops. The Garmin version has only one loop and has no trouble keeping the band secure. br>br>This one has two loops, which I assume are intended to address this issue, but it isn't perfect; I'd say I have to re-run it at least once a week or so. I'm going to tuck my band into the back of my shirt. For some reason, the loop with the tab does not perfectly secure the band in place. Regardless, if you want or need a lower-cost option, this is a good band to check out.
Soft and pleasant to the touch I've tried a few of these aftermarket bands, and this one, in terms of softness and flexibility, is the most similar to the original band of those I've tried. It also comes with two of those loop things, which is a good thing to have because they are usually the first thing to go.
It had two loops as opposed to the original's single loop. I was skeptical when I read that it was better than the original. However, because it was reasonably priced, I purchased it. IT OUTPERFORMS THE ORIGINAL IN EVERY WAY! Plus, my old one was gray, which was fine, but this one is black and goes perfectly with my Forerunner. It appears to be more powerful, has two loops, and has a better overall feel than the original. WINNING!.
I'm really disappointed that I have to send this back. It's the perfect fit for my teeny-tiny wrist! The material is nice, but the clasps that connect it to my watch aren't as long as the ones on the original band, and they come undone every time I bump my watch, even if it's just a little.
