This isn't THE last cable, but it allows you to charge the Wii Gamepad from any USB charger or socket, which eliminates the need for the cradle and allows you to play for longer periods of time. Cable that is light in weight. I'm content with myself. When I'm happy, everyone else is happy, so you must be as well. Buyer beware: it won't hold up to rug rats attacking the cable; however, kids now want a switch. So you should be fine; they've got the Switch, you've got the Wii U, and everyone's happy. Happiness is, after all, what it is all about.
My cable arrived in a bag labeled "For Microphone Windscreen," which caused some confusion at first, but as you can see from the photo, it contained the item I ordered. The cable itself appears to be of adequate quality. br>br>It's a little alarming that the Wii U Gamepad is anticipating four players. Because the input voltage is 75 volts and the USB output voltage is 5 volts, the total output voltage is 5. 3% in excess of requirements; However, most devices are built to withstand 5% variance so it is unlikely to be a problem in practice. Also it is really unlikely the device is using 4. Internally, the voltage is 75V, which is significantly higher than the industry standard of 3. Because lithium ion batteries are typically in the 2V range, it's very likely that it's already stepping down the voltage internally.
When plugged into the wall, it emits a high-pitched hum. When I bought this for our Wii U gamepad, I had no idea it was a third-party charging cable. It charges the gamepad, but it produces an unsettling high-pitched noise. When it's plugged into the wall, it emits a high-pitched hum, regardless of which outlet it's plugged into or whether or not the gamepad is connected and charging. It makes me wonder if it's of poor quality, and if it could harm our gamepad. We were going on vacation when this arrived, so we only used it for about a week before returning it; otherwise, I would have returned it. I'm going to get a Nintendo replacement charger as soon as possible.
It was a complete failure. Unfortunately, I kept it in a box for a long time before attempting to use it, only to discover that it does nothing. My own charger works perfectly, but this cable does not charge at all when connected to multiple power blocks. I've tried about ten different ones.
My Wii U game pass isn't charging as well as it used to. I wanted something to charge my device while I'm sitting on the couch playing my games, so I put the charger that came with it next to the console.
We bought this charger after our previous one broke down. Our previous charger lasted a few years, but this one only lasted a month before it broke down. We've had it for about six weeks, and the charger needs to be cared for in order to function properly. The charge comes to a halt with just a light touch. br>br>If you move your Wii U GamePad a lot or charge it while it's in use, you should invest in a better charger. This one isn't very sturdy and won't last very long.
It was well worth the money because it worked perfectly to charge my Wii U remote.
It feels flimsy at first, but it works great if you use it carefully.
