How Our Score Is Calculated

Product Description

By entering your model number, you can make sure that this fits.
Reolink's 4K Ultra HD (8MP) PoE camera offers nearly four times the clarity of a 1080p camera. Even when digitally zooming in, our entire camera system provides users with vivid resolution. Any flaws or distortions that you may have noticed in the past have been removed, giving you the best possible view of your surroundings.
Person/Vehicle Detection – Smart PoE IP cameras can recognize people and vehicles based on their shapes, reducing the number of false alarms caused by animals or shadows. When sending alerts to you, cameras can also be set up to specify the type of detection. By simply looking at the lock screen, you can figure out what happened.
PoE System with Plug and Play – Setting up and installing your home security camera system is made easier with a simple PoE connection. Users can enjoy smooth security coverage of their entire house with a single network cable that stretches up to 330 feet. This is ideal for beginners as well as DIY camera enthusiasts.
Users can record continuously 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, thanks to a pre-installed 2TB hard disk drive. For backup storage, you can also connect an external hard drive (up to 6TB).
2 Year Warranty – Users will receive lifetime technical support as well as a 2-year warranty. Simply contact Reolink tech support via email or Amazon Message, and we'll replace any defective or broken items.

Questions & Answers

Is it possible to record at 30 frames per second with this device?

The frame rate of this NVR is 4CH@25fps (PAL) and 4CH@30fps (NTSC).

How does the night vision compare to the 5mp cameras?

Hello, they both have a night vision range of about 65 feet. 100ft.

Will onvif ever be available for the 4k cameras included in this bundle?

The 4K camera B800 does not support ONVIF, so it is not recommended.

Is it necessary to connect the cameras directly to the nvr, or can three cameras be connected to a switch and one cable run back to the nvr?

Correct, but make certain that those switches are POE. If you buy a cheap switch that doesn't support POE, you'll have to power the camera via barrel male power connector (12v 2amps), which equals 24w per camera (if I'm not mistaken, it could be over 1amp, making it 12W) volts x amps = watts (MhA to mA 1000 = 1mA) volts x amps = watts

A Very Good System at a Good Price
5/5

This system performs admirably in its price range. br>br>These new true 4K UHD cameras, the "B800," are the real deal. br>br>As many previous comments and reviews have pointed out, the newest true-crime films are a step forward in terms of quality. ReoLink's "software" support for their incredibly capable hardware is falling behind with 4K cameras. br>These cameras were "originally" designed to work with the newer, more efficient "H. 265" video compression protocol.

This would have provided 50% better compression- factor (half-time) the- For the same video content/quality, there are different file sizes. br>br>ReoLink was forced to drop the ball on H. for whatever "licensing" or "technical" reason. Support for 265 compression is, in my opinion, a bad move. Furthermore, these cameras MUST be used with the "8" channel version of ReoLink's NVR RLN8-A. 410 br>The 16-channel ReoLink NVR is unable to support 16 4K cameras (due to both 100 Mbps Ethernet bandwidth at full 4K frame rates and video bit-rate limitations). rates). br>br>As previously stated, the "B800" model 4K cameras do not have ONVIF support. br>br>Now for the flaws in ReoLink's support for this fantastic video hardware: br>br>1) There is no H. There are 265 compression algorithms to choose from (which translates to HUGE H. 264 compression). File sizes are 264 bytes). Even when the frame rate is reduced to 12 frames per second and the maximum bit rate is set, the video still looks great. If the rate is increased to 1024 bits per second, the data rate will be around 900 megabits per second. per- 30-minute time limit per- camera. br>br>2) The features listed below are no longer available in Windows (v. For this NVR/Camera combination, use the 33) or Mac client version of the ReoLink software: a) When the "target" is the NVR (rather than any of their otherbr> individual cameras), there is no longer any "Fast-Forward" capability. b) There is no longer any "Fluent" (highly compressed, low-resolution audio) available. frame- The stream is available for download (at a low bitrate and with a small image pixel count). At these large 4K H. resolutions, this is a HUGE problem/omission. When reviewing stored video content from remote sites with limited UPSTREAM bandwidth, use 264 file sizes; This is a fairly common request. br>br> c) The client for Windows (v. 33) is prone to "locking up" and requires a restart. This occurs when a user quickly selects a software feature from a list of options (i. e. Changing timeline points, switching displayed cameras, having 'too many cameras' visible on the screen at once, etc. ,)br>br>Quitting and restarting the Windows "Client" software always "fixes" the issue, so I'm not sure if this is caused by the NVR's software/hardware, or the Windows "ReoLink client" software. br>    & Both the 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Windows experience the same lockup issue. 64-bit and 32-bit The ReoLink Windows client is available in both 32-bit and 64-bit versions. br>br> d) One or more cameras do not always display their "live" video content right away. Occasionally, a specific camera will not appear in the "client" software unless the client is restarted. br>br>3) Unlike all other ReoLink camera hardware, there appears to be no way to "upgrade" the firmware of these new "B800" true 4K UHD cameras. br>br>4) There is no "web-based" content embedded. For these new "B800"cameras, there is "server" software available. br> This is most likely due to the fact that they MUST be used with the 8-digit code. RLN8- RLN8- RLN8- RLN8 410 NVR and can't be used on its own like the other ReoLink cameras. " br>br>5) While a 2 TB hard drive is commendable, even with only four 4K cameras connected to the NVR, and even at very low bit rates, [1024kbps] and frame-rate rates [10fps], only about 5 calendarbr> days of "24x7" historical video content review would be possible. This is due, once again, in large part, to the lack of support for the H. Algorithm 265 for compression. br>br>6) While not ReoLink's fault, even true 4K cameras have difficulty reading (at least foreign) license plates at any "normal" distance. In every other way, the true "4K" image is truly remarkable. Even the "5MP, 4X optically-enhanced" model Despite the fact that ReoLink cameras (or any other brand) claim to be "zoomable," they struggle with this task. br>br>7) The ReoLink software labs need to get a lot further, and a lot more often, with "featuresbr> programming" for the Windows/Mac client. I can improve my "remote viewing experience" (for both LIVE andbr> PLAYBACK) by running the ReoLink client software "remotely" and then connecting to a local Windows PCbr> via the Microsoft Windows 10 "Remote Desktop Client. " br>br>As a software/electrical engineer, I can attest to the fact that the ReoLink engineers own their entire video camera's technology. Even though all of the "bugs" listed above were formally reported to, and then 'acknowledged' by ReoLink tech support, using the proper "customer support methods," the current version of the stack, as well as the NVR and camera's "firmware," this is not impressive. br>br>Even though all of the "bugs" listed above had been formally reported to, and then 'acknowledged' by ReoLink tech support, using the proper " 33 software hasn't been "updated" in more than three years. for a long time. br>br>8) These B800 cameras have no way of controlling their nighttime IR illumination (the option is available "nowhere," as it is for all other ReoLink cameras). br>br>Niceties: br>1) Any standard SATA drive [internal] or eSATA (using externally supplied 12VDC power) and an eSATA data cable can be used to expand NVR storage. br>2) The unit is "tiny," which means it can be stored almost anywhere. br>3) All 8 Ethernet ports support PoE for the camera. br>4) The video "clip" download feature is very nice (but, like all of the other ReoLink cameras, it no longer supports downloading the much more compact "Fluent" stream). )br>5) The cameras are exceptionally well built for the price. br>6) If you have enough internetbr> bandwidth, the Android and iOS versions of the ReoLink client are very usable and functional. br>7) The price-to-quality ratio is very impressive. br>8) When there isn't enough natural light, the "infrared LEDs" can be used for scene illumination at night. This is an outstanding system! br>br> br>br>However, if they iron out some of the "kinks," it could be even better.

A 4K system holds a lot of promise - The end result was disappointing
3/5

This review is for the Reolink 4K Ultra HD 8CH POE Security Camera System, 4pcs Wired 8MP Outdoor PoE IP Cameras, which was recently released. For several years, I've been a big supporter of their goods. I currently have a 16-channel system with 5-megapixel cameras, all of which are equipped with audio. I was looking forward to their new 4K product, especially for my street views so that I could see license plate numbers in greater detail. I currently run one network cable into my computer room and connect all of the cameras to a powered PoE switch in my utility closet. It really works. Powered PoE switches, on the other hand, are not supported by this new system. This is from the Reolink engineers, who contacted me after I filed a ticket with them. The only way for this system to work is for the cameras to be connected directly to the NVR. I did some testing, and the first images, as well as the audio, were simply stunning. However, it's clear that this system hasn't been thoroughly tested, as I experienced numerous camera freezes with the one camera that was directly connected to the NVR. This product is too new and buggy for me to recommend it for purchase. Also - Reolink's tech support is excruciatingly slow due to the fact that their entire staff is based in China. They don't have a presence in the United States, and communicating with them takes several email cycles. I wish I could give this product a five-star rating, but it isn't yet ready for sale. Check out their other products if you're looking for a truly fantastic system with 5mb cameras and built-in audio. Exceptional work.

A fantastic purchase! Expectations were exceeded! It's well worth a lot more than they're asking for!   The camera system is fantastic
5/5

There is no doubt about it. There is audio, but it is not two-way audio. I simply plugged it in to ensure that everything functions properly. It has yet to be installed. Exceeded my expectations in every way! The ability to use geofencing for motion detection is a fantastic feature. Motion-detection alerts are recorded 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. For me, the app works flawlessly and is extremely fast, owing to my high-speed internet connection. The system is very user-friendly and comes with a lot of useful features. I've been recommending it to everyone in my family and circle of friends.

Motion detection notifications, crystal clear images/feeds, and excellent night vision I won't claim to understand all of the technical aspects of this system; however, I can assure you that it is an excellent system for us
5/5

We live in a very rural area and this is our first (and hopefully last) security system. The feeds are crystal clear, there is no lag time, and the motion detection is fairly sensitive. It provides me with a sense of security. br>br>In one photo, the man can be seen standing at least 100 feet away from the camera. However, if I zoom in close enough, I can easily identify him. Look at how clearly the boat's wheels can be seen in the top left corner of that photo! Also, the pool photo is incredibly clear. I would never leave a child alone in a pool, and this system alerts me if there is any movement in the vicinity. The night vision is just as sharp and clear, but it's in black and white. br>br>I keep the live feed on my phone in a corner of my desk while I'm at work. I receive an email when motion is detected, and I can check the live feeds on my phone. Because we live in the country, the most common alerts are bugs, wasps, chickens, birds, and other small animals, but the sense of security outweighs minor inconveniences like false alarms. Our house was broken into while we were still constructing it. It wasn't so much the items that were taken as it was the feeling of being violated that has left a negative long-term impression. We'll remember you for a long time.
