Questions & Answers

Are there any finger prints on it?

In any case, it doesn't seem realistic that fingerprints can lead to the discovery of your passcode. As long as you didn't do 1111 or 1234 or something stupid, even if you repeated some numbers, there would still be so many possibilities. When you use 40044004, and you see that you only touched the 4 and the 0, which is made up of 8 digits from 2 digits, that's 256 combinations if the burglar knows you used all 8 digits, which he wouldn't do. The number of possible combinations for a 7 digit code would be 128 with two numbers, and so on all the way down to a 4 digit code which to be fair would only leave 16 if you only used two numbers for a 4 digit code, such as The long and the short of it is that you should use four different numbers for the short 4 digit passcode (e.g. code, you can essentially use 2 or 3 numbers and still have an unguessable passcode (such as Although it's possible to crack a passcode even if you know what numbers are used, except if you choose a ridiculous passcode (e.g. 4321, 1234, 4444) statistically, it's not as easy as you might think.

What is the compatibility of this product with an ?

It doesn't seem to be the case. Neither this type of lock nor apps can be connected to the internet or operated with an app. Similar locks can be found at Yale that have access to the internet.

When and by whom does this keep a record of who opened the door with their code?

The record does not exist

When you ask whether the YRD296 can be remanufactured, it should be noted Based on the answers keyed, In that case, you would just need to take the locks to a locksmith and ask them to key them alike - they can even match these to an existing Schlage key if you want. Alternatively, you can order a new Yale tumbler that can be keyed yourself.

All went well during the installation. There appears to be a problem with the locking motor, as it appears the motor cannot accept even minimal misalignments between the bolt and the socket. Almost all homes have a bolt as well as a receptacle that move because of rain or temperature variations. A moving tree It is a fact. Could not get the lock to work successfully Unless the deadbolt is manual, look for a lock with a keypad and a manual turn You might think of Schlage as one such example. A wrist with more strength and capacity than a wimpy motor can keep the Yale going. The lock I have on my bike has been working fine for over a year now. We returned the Yale to.

A Yale Assure Lock Touchscreen Keypad in Satin Nickel (YRD226NR619) called in defective 1 month after its warranty expired
3/5

This Yale Assure Lock Touchscreen Keypad in Satin Nickel (YRD226NR619) can be installed in any location. End of March 2018 and end of April 2019 were the dates of purchase and delivery. In the first month after the warranty expired, the keypad had died (or something with the The deceased was still alive when returned to their homes and showed no signs of death. A flashing dead battery and a flickering keypad. A pair of batteries were about Three times the batteries were changed, three times the factory reset was performed. The keypad is still not working properly, the battery status is always low, and the panel flickers. Luckily, this is the model with the key, so I was able to enter the Similarly, if this same issue occurred with a keyless model, you would be out of luck. There was a latch on a door in a closed hallway in a high-rise apartment An apartment building on a hill. I'm not sure what caused the failure but I don't see any weather-related related issues. This document has been updated as of We contacted an alleged third party (team August) to assist with our support problem. I have determined that the keypad is dead, and will be sending a replacement. Those were the events of It is expected that the shipping information will be emailed by Wednesday at the latest. Despite the fact that it is Friday, no information has been released. Sending an email back to team August results in a script message telling me to contact customer service. In such a case, the call will go straight to voicemail (during business hours). I have left 3 messages over 3 days and have not received a reply. The Yale POS lock is the last one I will ever buy.

It wouldn't be wise to tremble when buying a ZWAVE lock

I've installed and/or used many smart locks, but this is by far the best. The Kwikset locking system performed better than any of the Kwikset or Schlage locks I have used. A wonderful feature of this device is its ability to pair instantly, work seamlessly, and have a long battery life. My LED lights are now controlled by a Vera controller, and it's awesome. If you have to press the door by hand to compensate for any trim seal around the frame, it might get a little tricky, which isn't even Yale's fault, if it isn't perfectly aligned or the trim seal isn't perfectly aligned. In spite of that issue, it looks lovely, is super easy to use, and is quiet. It helps to have a smooth action if possible, but if possible, make sure that the bolt is tapered, so little misalignment shouldn't be a problem. This will be a money-saving move for you. This made it feasible for me to automate four locks in my house, and the investment was well worth it. Tips for writers The following is one of those 1 - 2 You should always make sure you have access to your house via an easy to access door when going When these locks fail, there is only one way to open them, and that is from the inside. If you have a lot of these that you can easily access, the likelihood of all of them failing at the same time is pretty slim, but you should have another fallback plan just in case. I think 2 is the smallest of the two. You must "hand" these locks AFTER they have been installed. When the lock locks, it tells you whether your door is right-handed or left-handed (the direction in which the bolt is actually locked). I learned the hard way that rehandling these locks is a little bit of a pain. It is obvious that this information is lacking in the instructions, so follow them step-by-step You are on the right track if you simply follow the steps.

I think it's a Okay, thank you
3/5

After almost a year of owning this lock, it is perfectly adequate, but it is not as good as I would have hoped for. The first thing to do is to upgrade the connected lock for a little extra money. If you don't have that, then this thing really is rather When you punch in the numbers, the door will open. It is a technology that is at the cutting edge of advancement. And that's all there is to It is also annoying that if you stand in the doorway too long or pass your hand near the deadbolt when closing the door, the deadbolt will open and when you close the door, you will smash your doorframe. From the dozens of times that has happened to me, my frame has permanent dentures. It will be necessary to get a metal plate for that area on the frame and hope that it will not damage the lock. Last but not least, the keypad can be a bit finicky if you don't input the numbers slowly. Yet it locks securely without the need for a key, so it is a great choice. I give that a 3 out of 5 star rating.

There is one feature that I missed when it comes to quality lock
4/5

Having used Kwikset locks in the past, I needed an electronic lock. I researched Kwikset and other brands of basic and smart electronic locks, and chose this Yale combination lock based on the construction, quality, features, and overall positive The Kwikset deadbolt could easily be replaced, and the striker plate of the deadbolt did not even need to be changed. In any case I did have to make the bolt hole deeper due to the Yale deadbolt's extended length. I don't think it's that big of a Taking just a few minutes to follow a YouTube video and the sparse instructions made the setup easy. I was hoping that based on my reviews of several locks and perhaps not having researched this one like I should have, the lock would have the feature to specify a one-time passcode. It is a valid for a limited period of time, after which it expires. There must be a way to make locks "smarter. " If I set the code before the intended use, then I'd be able to remove it after the use, but that's not as foolproof and not quite as It's possible that I could add a smart module to get this functionality, but then I'd have more features than I would require, which is why I wanted a more basic lock in the first place. As far as locking the door, I do not particularly care if you touch any key on the keypad. Would have been great if there was a dedicated Quite nitpicky, but there is too much ease for inadvertent locking. It would be a good lock if it was otherwise, and we will adapt. I also think Yale is doing a great job with Almost all of the cardboard is recyclable, except for a couple of plastic bags to protect the shiny parts. Neither a blister pack nor shrink wrap is required.

The installation process is very simple

It was super easy to install and program, and we like how it allows us to create longer PINs (harder to crack).
