Questions & Answers

Is there a memory card slot, as the description does not mention it?

In the description, it does'mention' card sizes: br>" The micro SD card slot allows you to expand your memory.br> The PX470 has 4 GB of internal memory, which allows you to record for up to 59 hours and 35 minutes in stereo at MP3 128 kbps. A micro SD card can be used to add up to 32 GB of additional memory, which is equivalent to over 536 hours of recording time (Micro SD 32 GB, MP3 128 kbps).

When the batteries run out, do the recordings become unplayable?

I believe the recording is still active, but it simply ends with the *beep beep* of a dying battery. But I haven't given it much thought lately.

Is it true that if the batter dies, the recordings are lost?

No, even if the battery dies, you don't lose what you've recorded.

This strategy is effective
5/5

I ordered a different brand 8GB recorder that would not connect to my PC in any way. There is no way to show up as a file folder in Windows 10. I switched cables, ports, and read the documentation. It simply did not work. I gave it back and gave this one a shot. Despite the fact that this Sony only has 4GB of memory, it functions flawlessly. There was no problem connecting to a Windows 10 PC. The computer recognizes the device right away as a storage drive, thanks to Sony's clever integration of the USB connector into the recorder, which eliminates the need for a separate cable. br>br>I've recorded 3 hours and over 20 audio files so far, and the battery is still fully charged. 4 GB of storage is more than enough. I don't think you need any more unless you plan on never clearing the device memory. br>br>The quality of the native microphone is adequate. After running the sound files through a sound editing software to remove background noise, I also purchased a small lavalier microphone and connected it by wire to this device; the quality is nearly studio quality. br>br>The interface is intuitive; buttons are where they should be and do what they should. I've finally found the recorder I've been looking for.

This is a fantastic digital voice recorder
5/5

I've purchased a number of other small digital voice recorders and have had issues with each one. THIS IS AN EXCELLENT IDEA! It comes with a slew of useful features that make it simple to operate. I'm currently reading the user's manual that came with it, but I've been using it without issue since I took it out of the box; it's that easy to use. I've copied files to my computer, deleted files, and so on, but I have yet to come across a Chinese menu! One of the other recorders I bought (and later returned) became stuck on a Chinese menu, and I couldn't get it to switch back to English. br>br>The buttons are well-organized and simple to use. A battery indicator is displayed on the screen at all times so you can see when it's time to replace the batteries. There will be no surprises. I use it to record voice, and the recorder's speaker is adequate, though using headphones improves the clarity of the voice. br>br>Another feature I like is that when you go to delete a file, it starts playing the file so you know which one you're dealing with. It also accepts an external microphone and has a "hold" feature that disables all buttons, preventing it from being damaged by accidental bumps while in your pocket. br>br>I'll buy another one of these if this one stops working. At long last, I've found one that actually works!.

It takes good pictures and the battery lasts as long as it says it will
4/5

It takes good pictures and the battery lasts as long as it says it will. The only criticism - a considerable amount of money - My issue is that unless you have already set a track mark, there is no way to go back in time when playing the recording. Basically, rewinding a few seconds or minutes to double-check what you just heard is impossible. Because my job occasionally requires me to listen to the device's recording on the fly, this flaw is a major disadvantage for me. When possible, I listen to the file on my computer, which allows me to go back and forth in time by seconds or minutes. If this feature was available on the device, I would give it a five-star rating.

I'm sorry I bought this voice recorder
3/5

I wanted to improve my video tutorials, so I bought this digital recorder that was supposed to improve my voice recording by eliminating noise, but it didn't have any Noise Cancellation when I tested it. ONLY NOISE FILTERS ARE AVAILABLE. This, too, does not work. Check out my VIDEO REVIEW for more information. The first part of the video shows how I recorded the audio, and the second part shows how I listened to the recorded audio samples (recording from a mobile phone vs. recording from a Sony Digital Recorder). br>br>I TESTED ALL MODES; Voice Memo is the best option with Range set to Lowest (it will pick up more noise if Range is set to Far); I also turned on NCF(Noise Cut) or LCF(Low Cut) noise filters; however, even with all of these settings turned on, you will still need an editing tool to remove the noise. The noise in my room, which was caused by an electric fan, is even louder on this recorder than it is in real life. A humm from a Fan Blades, rather than the wind from the fan. Yes, from a distance of 7 feet, this device picks it up. As a result, this device is VERY SENSITIVE, which is a good thing. If you're in a soundproof room with no way of controlling the temperature. Otherwise, no matter what, this device will pick up noise. br>br>Sony created a low-cost alternative, but it falls short of the high-end Recorders in terms of quality. When I compared this to my $60 phone (Xiaomi Redmi 5A), I discovered that it completely eliminates noise. SEE MY VIDEO REVIEW FOR DETAILS. br>br>Instead of squandering money on this, go out and buy a phone. The sound quality is superior, and the interface is far more user-friendly (making it easier to handle, send, and transfer files). There is no reason to use or purchase this Sony Recorder.

It functions similarly to a thumb drive or flash drive; however, this review may not be applicable to all devices
3/5

These, on the other hand, are the user's observations. There is no need to install or download any software or applications. Simply plug it in and go. It functions similarly to a thumb drive or flash drive, with the addition of a transcription mode for capturing high-quality audio for transcription purposes. The only issue is that when the batteries died, all of the recordings were automatically deleted. If you make a recording, save it as soon as possible to your computer.

Recording choir rehearsals and using the recordings to learn the music has never been easier
4/5

This recorder has proven to be extremely useful in recording and learning the music for a choir in which I sing. It was relatively easy to learn to use via the website, and I like that it uses AAA batteries so it is not dependent on a non-rechargeable battery. It was relatively easy to learn to use via the website, and I like that it allows me to add track marks, which makes it easy to go over (and over) parts that I need to work on and skip the rest. I only gave it four stars because, while the automatic recording settings appear to work well, the "lecture," "meeting," "soft music," and "loud music" settings did not record at a high enough volume to be useful, even after I changed the mic characteristics. It's fortunate that the auto setting is functional. The recordings sound great when I plug it into my car radio or boom box, but they're tinny when I listen to them through the recorder's tiny speaker.
