Using this machine, you cannot erase. I had to buy a magnetic pen with an inexpensive eraser that works well. For less than $15, I purchased it from Amazon.
I ordered the unit with all the necessary parts, which included an AC adapter.
I noticed that this unit has only one headphone jack. We include a brand new stereo headset with our order. Using the jack on the headphone, you are able to listen to both sides of the headphone simultaneously. Thank you. I hope that was helpful.

In order to do our job, we were using handheld recorders. As soon as we found this refurbished unit, we were so excited since it worked and had all the parts. After trying the first one that was not complete and didn't work, we tried the second one. I jumped on it as soon as I saw it was listed with all its parts. Also, it made a good impression on me because it came completed and it operates correctly. As for the price, it was within our budget as well. I've tried two others of these machines so far and they all work as described. A remarkable tendency of theirs is that they simply stop recording or playing recordings once they have been made. As soon as I bought the first one, I was able to change the frequency and speed quite a lot in order to be able to detect voices recorded on microcassette recorders with low battery power. One that doesn't do as well as the other. It works well enough that I will keep it, even though I am not exactly sure why.
My astonishment at the speed in which the product arrived was very high! There was a lot going on and it was all set up. There was an audio issue that disappointed me quite a bit. At times, the voice in the tape was so muffled that I could not hear it. When I backed up the recording and listened to it again, the sound improved. Being forced to rewind each time I got a fairly clear sound was kind of a pain. Not enough time for it to be returned. In the near future, I will be looking for a different machine.
The ease of use of this machine is excellent. Then we decided to try out one of the new fangled units but we couldn't get it to run on our computer, so we sent it back and went back to Sony's equipment, and we.
It would have been nice to have more recent hardware. There is poor quality of sound in the video At times, I can scarcely make out the words being spoken in my head because of my hearing loss up to 10.
