It worked perfectly and saved my childhood recordings. I have never seen such a powerful cassette to MP3 converter before! In a desperate attempt to convert tapes that my mother recorded when we were kids into files, I have been seeking a way for YEARS. A piece of equipment I bought from eBay almost ripped out the tape and did not work, so I was unable to use it. Several places at the mall said they could offer this service, but charged $50 per half an hour, which I thought was just too much for what they offered. So I decided to give these guys a try, Three tapes have been converted tonight and they are fantastic. An exe file is included with the program, and there is a detailed description of how to install the program and update the preferences. You can export the recording in several different formats/quality levels. I really like how easy it is to use and how well it functions. Keeping our childhood memories is such a special thing! I am so grateful!.
Easy to use USB cassette for converting family recordings on tapes (previously copied from a wite recorder made in 1947) into MP3 files. Also was able to download Audacity from their website to a new Microsoft surface laptop (no CD). It was difficult to hear the recording because of a constant background noise. By using Audacity filter effects, I was able to remove this noise and the MP3 file now generates much better results than the original did.
The recordings should be of high quality I have updated. I'm using this to move old tapes to my computer as I'm going through them and purging everything, since there doesn't appear to be much to do during COVID. The only product to have the highest satisfaction rating among several I read was this one. The tapes came right away, in pristine shape, and when I tried to copy my first few (that is all I've been able to do so far), they copied better than I expected. This would be a good way to get a good quality copy of a cassette at a low cost. This update will include -
In the past, I have gone through tapes with a little static in hopes it would go away, but it never did. At times, the sound was louder on the outside of the unit than it actually was on the recording, and it would disappear at other times. This is certainly an alternative, and it might be the best one as it did have a better customer rating than all the other ones I considered. Some of my original tapes are still with me even if I returned the unit. Until I find something that works, I will just keep looking.
The cassette player comes with a USB port that will transfer mp3 files from old family audio cassettes. This system comes with both software and a USB cable, so getting it up and running is very easy. Audacity is the software and the Lame MP3 encoder is included, so it's very easy to edit the recording and export MP3 audio. There is no significant difference in terms of size between it and the cassette tape. If there is one thing I'd like, it would be a Dolby noise reduction switch to reduce tape noise.
Power is also supplied to the converter through the USB cord required for transfer to the computer. It comes with a program that allows easy editing and is extremely easy to use (Audacity).
Don't throw away your cassettes! My search for what I needed ended here. I found the directions clear and helpful, and it was a very easy to use program. There is a CD that comes with Audacity, but you can easily download it from their website as well. There is a free program called Audacity that needs to be used to convert videos, but don't worry. This program is very simple You have to play the tape in its entirety before it can be converted to mp3, so it takes a while, but once it's done, you can cut it up into smaller pieces. In addition to listening during the conversion, you can play along with the My cousins and I made some audio skits as children around 20 years ago and today I use this converter to digitize them and store them in my online storage account. I had always worried about these tapes ultimately failing and the memories being lost, but now that worry is over. I am grateful to have technology like this.
Since I am old enough that the cassettes I want to convert haven't been taken out of their cases in 30 years, I have to go through all of them. I was able to get it running and recording in just a few minutes. In addition to feeling a little light weight, the unit probably wouldn't take a fall very well. However, if I wanted something portable, I would find an actual Walkman, like the one I last used to listen to my tapes. I'll be able to sit this next to my computer and convert tapes, exactly what it was designed to do. Having said that, I have no doubt that serious audiophiles would find fault with the playback quality, but for the price, and considering the original recordings being transferred, it's a great buy. At the moment, I am listening to my first tape. I was pleasantly surprised by the sound quality of the playback, it was just as good as what I would expect from a metal tape used to record vinyl!.
I like the size of the room. I like how the sound is. We will have to wait and see how durable it will be My impression is that it may seem a little flimsy, but it should be fine so long as you don't skydive in it or go cave exploring with it. While it only plays tapes, it is simple to use as a player. Getting the tape ripper software up and running can be challenging for those less technologically inclined The process of digital conversion is likely to be difficult. The instruction booklet looks very similar to many other booklets like this, and it was written from outside the United States Occasionally, it is hard to see clearly in the world of spoken language.
