Questions & Answers

Will this receiver or transmitter be able to receive and transmit the murs channels?

Please turn off the radio - - Hold down the PTT and Tcall (under the PTT) for one second. *Return to your normal viewing mode - Tcall and PTT should be released - The code 62406665 should be entered here - Thanks for your patience, the radio will reboot shortly. I would like to explain TX and MURS, GMRS would like to TX you. I refer you to the following note Because this is an amateur radio (Part 97) that is not type-approved for use on part 95 bands, it is illegal to actually TX on MURS and GMRS unless there is an emergency. Please keep in mind that this is solely for educational purposes.

Do you think this radio would be good ?

That's right, if you are referring to HAM. In order to operate it, you must have a Technician license (HAM) that is issued by the FCC. Even if you listen unlicensed, you are likely to have a van swarm with antennas show up if you do so The unit is 2 meter &amp 20 meter long The width of the bands is 70 cm. See if there are any videos or second-hand books available Instructions for programming from the host party. two guides included, and tuning the radio and storing channel settings does not make sense without the help of the not very easy to use procedures in both. This radio is quite good.

What is the water resistance of this radio?

The enclosure's advertising states that it is resistant to dust and water, but it is not capable of repelling water. Water splashing against the enclosure from any direction shall have no adverse effect, while either of the following methods may be used An oscillating fixture For test a) there is a 10-minute waiting period. In test b) the device (without shield) is operated for a minimum of 5 minutes. The following are a few examples of oscillating tubes The test lasted for 15 minutes. You can also use a spray nozzle (IPX3 spray nozzle with the shield removed) for 10 minutes. I suggest you avoid hitting it with a fire hose however, you can hit it with your lawn sprinkler if it hits it.

When using the provided antenna and the provided transmitter in suburban areas (trees, houses, and flat topography), what range can I expect when using 5W of power?

For 2-3 miles line of sight, another antenna may be more effective, perhaps a real diamond whip I can still reach 9 mile repeaters You must keep in mind that I live across the street from a large lake.

the more expensive version of the Baofeng UV-2000 A "name brand" company should have given me more than a Baofeng UV-1000 with slightly worse performance This radio isn't worth the money you'd spend on it
3/5

You won't find any value in it. In one sentence The edited version Now I'll tell you why I consider The Baofeng UV-500 is my current portable music player With a moderately good reception and a poor output, the 5R has a moderately good reception. There is no way 5 watts will suffice. My head has been throbbing for 3 months now. In my testing, I found the Yaesu FT-75 to be excellent As I did for the UV-65R I did it the exact same way We put the stock antenna on, ran some tests on repeaters we know, and it did not help. Despite screaming, no one was able to hear me. As soon as I moved outdoors, my UV-light was brighter than ever There's nothing on 5R when it gets out. From the NA- to the N- I still have not heard anything about 771. There are at least 5 hams in a two-mile radius and none of them were able to As usual, I powered up the Baofeng and got a verbal confirmation of weak scratchy output. I switched back to the Yaesu, but it did not respond. My receiving ability slowly deteriorated to nothing but static over the course of 5 days as I owned the radio. I referred to it as garbage for those reasons alone.

It is a poor product that does not meet The radio looks and feels like it was made by one of the Chinese "cheap" manufacturers - I feel as though Yaesu has decided not to compete on quality in order to compete on price
3/5

A lot of similarities exist between it and a BaoFeng radio model.
I have yet to get it to work, even though it says it does "Split tone", but it seems to do it. Several grammatical errors have been found in the programming software, and the settings are different from those appearing on the radio's front panel. As a plus, testing it on a spectrum proves it to be clear In my ENC analyzer, the RF is very clean, the modulation is perfectly in specs (both WB and NB), and frequency stability (with fully charged batteries) is also great In both VHF and UHF, the TX sensitivity is excellent (better than 0. 05). On both bands, 25uV is required for a SINAD of 12dB). Despite how tough it looks, the FT-R doesn't feel as tough physically as its older brother, the LT-A With the charger included for $60, you get an all-in-one charger that is very light and inexpensive This is not to say it's a bad game, but it doesn't have that Yaesu feel. I returned the radio at the end of the day. Despite its claims, the Yaesu Tone Squelch only works with the strongest (full-quiet) signals, and thus this product is not up to Yaesu's standard. They should be ashamed to market this product.

This radio is really cool and rugged! The radio looks just like a new Baofeng, so I thought it was a Baofeng at first glance
5/5

With about a week of use, I am very impressed and see a number of improvements over, say, a UV82. The display is really easy to read and has a large (and accurate) signal meter like the monoband Yaesu radios. The 270th parallel. It would be great if the speaker audio was clearer at high volume levels, but the overall balance and clarity of the audio at medium and lower volume levels is superb. There is a bit of a lag in the scan, but not terribly so. Both the audio output power and TX power are fine and deliver what they are supposed to. In the RX receive, the RX receiver is sensitive and has reasonably good adjacent noise rejection, but the squelch is a bit too strong, even at Aside from the amazing whip antenna I mentioned earlier, a bonus is the radio's onboard microphone. It works equally well on both bands, and there is really no aftermarket antenna that does better than this one! You are the best Yaesu! I'm so glad you gave me a Motorola In terms of value, it really is a very good radio and I've found myself carrying it on my person every day.

This radio is awesome for a starter! It is referred to as the FT-300 An average score of 65 is pretty impressive
5/5

Despite the low price, the build quality is superb and feels quite solid in the hand. By changing to Nagoya NA-51, I was able to fix the antenna I use a 701 and it gives me a great signal, plus the speaker is very loud even on a very low setting. Although I didn't have a programming cable, I didn't find programming manual difficult. It took me maybe 30 minutes to get used to where things were located Having the volume turned all the way down, the only thing I dislike is the high pitched sounds it makes when receiving. The only thing I would have preferred was if there was no sound and only a status light.

I own the best HAM radio I have ever owned
5/5

I have determined that this radio is the most effective radio by comparing it with the following radios
1. It is a 3-D laser scanner made by Yasu. The reception or transmission of the signal is not good, and the fancy equipment wastes money. Two additional points Affiliations with the Yaesu Foundation I want to buy a 70DR. I had a good experience with this device, but the battery life was brief, and reception and transmission were okay,*3*. Baioefeng is a brand built on partnership It runs with a Power of 8HP The product appears to be good, but it is not approved for the 5.
* Other GMRS radios are available now on the Yeasu FT-7000 I used FT65 on a highway with no line of sight and I was in our house and my son was driving up the hill and the Tesla battery was down but the FT65 continued to work fine. Our communication went up to 22 miles since it was through traffic and flat terrain. It is highly reliable and very clear to listen and to transmit. I have found programming this thing to be a pain, so I purchased programming cable and now it is a breeze to arrange it. As a result, I was able to speak with my son with GMRS while hiking without repeaters due to what I learned from the MARS Mod. The Mars Mod is also easy to apply and is done through the keypad in contrast to During my real-time test I found this radio to be a good radio, and I didn't care about 5watts, 8watts, or signal test equipment at all. There is no way this can be fake.

The HT is well built and the menus are easy to use
5/5

The HT is well built and the menus are easy to use. Neither the manual nor the user guide are included in this product. The full version of the manual is on the Yaesu website and can be downloaded to understand all of its features. A solid performance is offered by the stock antenna. The radio seems to be quite well built. Most of its issues are due to the fact that it is such a new product in the Yaesu line. A few accessories are not yet available, and there is no CHIRP support. YouTube does not have any real tutorials just I think this would make a good first radio for a new tech or a nice glove! A box rig for an experienced amateur radio operator.

The only thing missing is a little bit of polish
4/5

As a result, I bought the radio and I like how it feels, looks, and works. I really like the belt clip it came with. Attaching it would require screws, but there are none. It is not in the box, it is not in any of the wrappers, or it is not inside While I still enjoy the radio, the lack of quality control will cause this company to lose credibility.

This is a solid winner
5/5

There have been a number of dual-system systems that I have tried Having tried a few band HTs with varying success and quality, I finally found this beauty and fell in love with Even though it may be a bit more expensive than some of its competitors, it has the feel, look, and heft of a quality piece of engineering as well as excellent functionality.
