That tranceiver (ft8900r) should have no trouble running on it.
I'm not sure where it's made, but it certainly works well.
Yes, the meter illuminates when it is turned on.
The unit came with no cables at all, only a power supply and a power cord. This is an excellent power supply, by the way.

You won't have to pay a tariff because it wasn't manufactured in communist China. This power supply is manufactured by "fair traders" in Taiwan. This means that you will not be charged a tariff as part of the price. br>br>This is an excellent power supply. I required something that could be adjusted. At 13, there is a detent on the voltage adjust knob. 8 VDC. It has an internal AC fuse that is located in a socket for easy replacement. br>br> The cooling fan is a fantastic feature. The fan does not run at all at low lows, but it will gradually speed up depending on the heat inside. br>br>In case you missed it in the specifications, the continuous current draw is 25A. The instructions are written in English and are well written.
This power supply was purchased to replace a Diamond GZV4000 40A switching power supply that had failed. Spurs from the Diamond power supply can be heard on the 80 and 40 meter bands. According to the reviews and claims for this power supply, it is very clean in terms of RF noise; however, I found no significant difference in terms of radiated RF noise between this supply and the Diamond supply. It's possible that the claims that this MFJ power supply is quiet are due to the switching frequency, which appears to be less stable than the Diamond supply. As a result, the RF switching noise is spread over a wider bandwidth, making it quieter overall. In conclusion, a good supply is available, but don't expect it to be particularly quiet. ki6qp Stuart ki6qp Stuart ki6qp Stuart ki6qp Stu.
Great little power supply that takes up very little space and can easily run a high-powered HF rig. I have a 50w two-meter radio and a 100w HF radio connected to it, and neither of them has any problems when one of them is keyed down.
I made a small box with a bunch of plugs to plug everything into, and this power supply powers everything. You can set it to a detent, which will set the output to around 13. My digital voltmeter says it's accurate at 5 volts, which is perfect. The fan only runs as fast as it needs to, so it's relatively quiet for the loads I'm using it for, which are only drawing about 5 amps at most. For what I'm doing with it, I'm very pleased with it.
Used in conjunction with the yaesu HF FTDX- 3000 watt transceiver with a quiet fan that only turns on once in a while. There is no radio frequency interference.
I strongly advise you to do so.
It's a nice little power supply, and by that I mean small. It has no trouble powering both my QRO rig and a dual band transceiver at the same time; I'm not sure if it has enough guts to transmit on both at the same time, but I only have mouth, so it works for me.
