The only thing it comes with is a power cord that plugs into the radio. A radio shack store will sell you a cigarette adapter. It's simple to put them on. Keep an eye on the polarity! br>I hope that this information is useful.
A 12v DC power supply is most definitely possible. Just make sure the power supply can deliver enough power to the radio. On-line specifications can be found here. line.
This one, on the other hand, does not. The letters around the knobs glow in the cobra 29 nightwatch. The only thing that lights up on this radio is the channel display and the meter.

Others said it sounded like crap, so I stopped transmitting. Everything was fine, including the ant, cables, and swr, until a screw fell out of the mike plug and a wire came loose at the solder point in the mike cord where it screws into the radio. Now Cobra electronics wants me to send the radio back to them for repair. Come on people, it's only the mike. I could have the old one fixed, but I believe they should handle the problem. Thanks to Eric in customer support, Cobra Electronics is sending me a new microphone.
This radio was installed in the early spring and has since failed. There is no physical or environmental damage, and all fuses are in good working order. I'm not sure what the problem is, but I expected a Cobra CB to last longer than 18 months.
I paid for a new Cobra but got one that was in the trash.
All of our CBs are installed in our trucks by the trucking company's garage, where I work. This one had been taken from its packaging. There was no way to turn it off. I went to a pilot near work and purchased a different version of this product, which I connected to the same wires that the garage had installed and it worked flawlessly, indicating that the problem was not a wiring issue. Very let down.
My husband is a truck driver, so I bought this for him. He couldn't get it until I'd had it for two weeks, and when he finally got someone from his company to try to hook it up for him, it simply blew fuses. He'd already thrown the box away. It was our error. Besides, it's too late to go back now. It was a waste of $95!.
This was supposed to be easy to set up, but it isn't. You must first mount it, then have it "tweaked" by someone who understands how to disassemble and manipulate it. NOT A GOOD INVESTMENT!.
It's a fantastic CB radio with excellent value!!.
wonderful item.
