I'm a cop, and this greatly improves the Motorola radio's wearing comfort while having no negative impact on range or ability to hear radio traffic.
I replaced it with a taller antenna because it was getting in the way when clipped to my outer vest; reception is excellent, and it performs exactly as advertised. Anyone would benefit from this.
Plug and play; I removed the old, foot-long antenna that was constantly poking me in the back and replaced it with this one. That's all there was to it. There are no problems with reception degradation inside buildings or underground. Simply write your name on it, or your friends will take it!.
Fits and functions perfectly with my Motorola APX8000. This antenna was installed in place of the radio's original, extremely long factory antenna. This short stubby makes a huge difference.
I thought I was getting a Motorola antenna, but it had a K logo on it when it arrived. It appears to function properly, but I believe the advertising is deceptive, which is why I have given it three stars. This product is compatible with the Motorola APX, but it is not made by Motorola.
We had a tower failure in part of our city, and I was the only one who could talk, so I bought this because it fits on my patrol belt and SWAT vest. I thought it was the radio, but I couldn't talk after switching back to my long whip, so I slipped in this shorty and was back in business. This is an excellent purchase.

Throughout the day at work, the antenna loosens and tightens. The original antenna, which it replaced, stayed in place all day but kept hitting my armpit. This one doesn't bother me at all, but it has loosened and fallen off the radio a few times without my knowledge. Now I make it a habit to check it several times during my shift to make sure it's secure. I find it loose about half of the time and would use a drop of loc-tite to secure it. I'd put a tite on it, but Motorola will void the warranty if it's discovered, so I'm just going to make the best of it.
