For the money, this is a fantastic printer
5/5

I just got the printer a couple of days ago. Please continue reading; you will, hopefully, be glad you did. br>br>I upgraded from an HP OfficeJet 5740 all-in-one printer to an HP OfficeJet 5740 multifunction printer. a five-year-old one, and this 8035e all-in-one In every category, one outperforms the other by a significant margin. I had to laugh at a couple of the comments here, as one guy complained about how much the cartridges cost, despite the fact that he obviously declined HP's Instant Ink's one-year free ink offer and instead purchased his ink at a retail store. (I was also dubious about his claim because the 8035e comes with a full set of cartridges-- He didn't say anything about it. ) We'd been using the Instant Ink program with our 5740 for three years. Now it's been four years. For $4, you can get the entire set of 100 pages. 99 per month with a maximum of 300 rollovers When you don't use all of your 100-page limit, you'll end up with a lot of pages. Allotment of pages per month (only $60 for the year). )br>br>All you have to do is connect the printer to your home computer's network switcher, which is also connected to the Internet. I don't use wireless because I prefer wired because it is more reliable and secure, as it is immune to interference, and it is also much faster (the printer's wireless mode is automatically turned off when you plug into the printer's Ethernet jack)- HP's Instant Ink program reads your printer, measures your ink supply, and ships replacement cartridges *before you run out of ink*. HP claims that the Instant Ink program saves 50% over the cost of retail cartridges and I can easily believe that because I bought retail Ink cartridges for a year before I wised up 4 years. The best part is that if you decide you don't want to keep the program, HP will cancel it for you without charge at any time. That's what happened when I removed the 5740 from Instant Ink and replaced it with the 8035e. br>br>Since 1986, I've been printing with inkjet printers. a wide range of brands- And this Instant Ink deal is the best I've ever seen! Nothing compares to it- I used to spend a lot more money on ink back when I was younger than I do now. If you take advantage of the program, you will easily be able to save enough money to pay for your printer over time. It's a no-brainer with the 8035e because HP includes a full year of service for free! So, if you don't believe me, you should give the program a shot. It's a huge relief not to have to go out and buy print cartridges! Furthermore, with the 5740, HP only sent their XL (extra-large) model. cartridges (large) I'm not sure if the 8035e will accept XL cartridges, but I'm still using the cartridges that came with the printer, and Instant Ink has already sent me my first replacements-- When these run out, I'll use that instead. They should arrive in the next few days. br>br>One final note on Instant Ink- a number of pages HP doesn't care if you print 100 full-color pages or just one. a month's worth of color pages (or more with a roll-out) over) or a text of over 100 pages! Or any combination of the two. In addition, printing full pages in color consumes a lot of ink quickly! That is why I am a big fan of the Instant Ink program. br>br>I also didn't get the lady who said the 8035e was "too expensive. " I'm sorry, ma'am, but $199 for an all-in-one computer isn't cheap. one that prints, scans, copies, and faxes, as well as a year's worth of free ink and a two-year warranty In my opinion, a one-year factory warranty is not "too expensive. " Unfortunately, the poor woman sounded as if a $40 color printer would have sufficed. And she claimed that operating it was too difficult? It doesn't get any easier than HP Smart, which is the only printer control software I use and, in my opinion, is incredibly simple to use. So, in any case, I can't agree with that conclusion. Last but not least, she said it was "huge," which I believe she meant. Surprisingly, the printer takes up the same amount of shelf space as my previous Officejet 5740. Anyway, br>br> For what it's worth, that's how I feel about this printer. (And no, this isn't a sponsored post; I don't work for HP. ) Actually, I'm a retired computer technician. ) I hope you find this information useful.

THIS IS BY FAR THE WORST PRINTER I'VE EVER HAD
3/5

Sure, it produces high-quality copy, but so does a far less expensive Brothers printer. EVERYTHING else about it is a waste of time. It isn't well documented; At best, the technical support is adequate. It's built awkwardly, resulting in wasted hours of frustration trying to get it to work properly: I've had it for four months and have only once been able to print envelopes correctly with the address/return address straight and in the correct location. The paper drawer is flimsy, and replacing it correctly is difficult. Ink refills are also a king's ransom, far more expensive than those offered by other manufacturers ($85 for a black/red-ink refill). yellow- set of blue). I'm not going to buy another HP printer in my life.

Printing one page takes ten minutes
3/5

For ten minutes, this thing makes noises as if it's about to print something. Finally, it is printed. What is it doing in there, breaking down the paper into molecular components and reassembling it? Please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please.

I couldn't stand it any longer when I saw how much I despised this printer
3/5

This was an emergency purchase made during the height of the pandemic, so my first gripe is that it was prohibitively expensive, and it will not print if you require a Windows update. So you have to stop what you're doing, download, and then restart, which is incredibly inconvenient. It's slow and obnoxious at the same time. It's a joke that instant ink exists - I don't pay by the page, which is why I purchased a printer. Whose brilliant idea was that, HP? There are no third-party cartridges available yet, so ink is expensive. br>br>It's big; don't put your paperwork on top of it because it'll make annoying noises until you remove it. The scanning software did not meet my expectations. Most of the components appear to be made of cheap plastic, so it appears that it will break soon. The print quality is adequate, but not exceptional, given the number of hoops you must jump through just to print a single page. Imagine needing to print something quickly and then spending 30 minutes trying to figure out why your printer isn't working at least once a week. It irritates me a lot. br>br>I'll never buy another HP product because I despise this printer so much; they're on my list.

The touch screen makes it very simple and efficient to use
5/5

If you activate the free ink on hp smart, you are only allowed to print 100 pages per month, otherwise you will be charged a dollar per 10 pages, which I was not aware of before hand.

The advertisement is untrue
3/5

I only got 6 months of ink despite the fact that the package stated 12 months. I was disappointed to learn that it was a FALSE ad.

I'm a big fan of the HP that has everything
5/5

It took some technical assistance to set up the printer on an older desk top, but once it was up and running, it was a fantastic printer. Excellent copies that are simple to use. I'd make another purchase.
