Consider the setup time, maintenance costs, and relative ease of use before purchasing this printer
4/5

I'm the proud owner of an HP Envy 6455e All-in-One PC. Aside from the HP Envy 6055e All-in-One, there's another option. One. The HP Envy 6455e has an auto-shutdown feature, which is the only real difference between the two. It has a document feeder and can send and receive faxes on the go. Aside from that, it's the same printer, with the same basic features like print speed, setup, and day-to-day operation. day use. If you're used to printers with built-in auto-duplexing, you'll appreciate this feature. I recommend the HP Envy 6455e All-in-One Printer if you have a lot of documents to scan. Instead, I'll take one. br>br>For years, I've been configuring HP printers. I work in IT, and I can confirm that the HP printer setup process has gotten worse since the introduction of HP Smart, which is the app you'll use to access print functions like camera scanning, printer scanning, photo and document printing, copying, and shortcut setup. Prior to HP Smart, you would typically use direct WIFI to set up your printer and download the drivers from HP's website; however, HP now makes the model-specific drivers. Unless you use a universal HP printer driver (google this if interested), which may or may not work and may or may not allow you to use all of the printer's features or advanced functions, specific driver downloads are impossible to find on their website. So, with that out of the way, let's look at the advantages and disadvantages of this printer. Prosbr>Br>Br>Br>Br>Br>Br>Br>Br>Br>Br>Br>Br>Br>Br> aesthetically pleasing and doesn't disrupt the design or flow of your roombr>HP extends your printer's warranty and provides a free 30-day trial of HP Instant Inkbr>The HP Smart app for Android or iOS is actually quite useful (except for the setup process) for mobile printingbr>Once setup, the printer is simple to use and manage on a day-to-day basisbr> br>If properly monitored, HP Instant Ink can save you a lot of money on ink costs. For example, if you print 60 pages per month, you can pay $4 for a subscription. You can print up to 100 pages per month with a 99-per-month toner subscription plan. When your ink runs out in two months, HP will send you new ink, and you'll only have spent $10 over that time. This monthly subscription plan will cost you $60 per year if you use it consistently throughout the year, which is the BEST price I've seen so far (and I've looked at a few). br>If you aren't using HP Instant Ink, the cost of a new set of genuine HP black tri-color ink cartridges is around $100. The cost of color ink is $29 per cartridge. For only $38, you can double the yield (print twice as much) with a brand new set of genuine HP 67XL black tricolor cartridges. If you print 60 pages per month and use standard cartridges, this will cost you around $30 every two months, or $180 per year. It'll set you back $38 when you use XL cartridges. Every four months, you'll pay 98 dollars, or $120 per year. br>br>Consbr>Printer setup is a pain, and without expertise and/or perseverance, it can be a huge barrier for the average user to overcome. br>HP Smart requires account registration before you can set up your printer for use. br>HP Instant Ink requires that you know how much you print on a regular basis. If you sign up for a plan because it's cheaper on a monthly basis but it doesn't cover your print volume, you'll be charged "overages" for printing more than your plan covers. br>HP is only available for 6 days after the initial setup of the printer, which means you could miss out on an additional year of warranty and a long trial of HP Instant Ink if you don't sign up for it during the setup process and then forget. (i. e. only based documents) There will be no pictures in this book, and it will be about 120 pages long. The HP 67XL high yield blank ink cartridges will print about 240 pages. In my opinion, neither cartridge prints well enough, so buying OEM ink other than HP Instant Ink is a waste of money. If you plan to use HP Instant Ink, you will never be able to use third-party manufactured ink with your printer. To use this service, you must use genuine HP ink. br>The cost of purchasing third-party manufactured ink is astronomical. Using non-renewable energy sources will not save you money. The cost of printing with genuine HP ink in this printer is also insane. You're better off signing up for the HP Instant Ink subscription plan (and, yes, who needs more subscriptions?). )br>br>Let's start with the setup process, because it's the most hands-on. removing the most significant impediment to using this printer DO NOT: br>br>DO NOT: br>DO NOT: br>DO NOT: br> br>To set up this printer, use your phone. Start HP Smart on your laptop after it has been downloaded. After that, sign into your HP Smart account (or create one and then sign in if you haven't already) and select Add a Printer from the drop-down menu. The process is finished. If you're asked to enable Bluetooth, go ahead and do so. Follow the instructions if you're asked to use the direct-wifi network. If the bluetooth or wireless setup instructions were carefully followed, you should be able to see a printer listed that you can select to set up. You should be directed to sign up for HP once you've chosen that printer. This is a no-cost service that will double your warranty coverage to two years. a period of years rather than just a single year HP Instant Ink is available for a free trial period of one year. You'll be glad you got that extra year of warranty coverage because it'll come in handy. If HP Instant Ink isn't for you, you can always cancel it. Place some paper in the printer tray, install the print cartridges (this can only be done while the printer is turned on), and print and scan the alignment page when prompted. This should be the end of the printer setup and you should be able to use the printer now. br>br>The installation will take 30-45 minutes. Unboxing the printer, removing all tape, installing the paper (not included) and cartridges, connecting the printer to the network, and printing an alignment page should take about 60 minutes. However, I haven't had to fiddle with the printer or its settings since I finished the setup, and I find the printer to be relatively simple to use on a daily basis. on a daily basis I try not to rate a product solely on the basis of one feature and instead consider the entire product in terms of cost and value, so I gave it four stars and deducted a star for the printer setup process and the cost of printing on a monthly or annual basis. In general, owning and using a consumer-oriented device is costly. The important thing to remember is that this printer is only $129, which is a great deal. 99, but you'll have to spend at least that much on genuine ink in the next year. 2 years (depending on which ink solution you choose), so the printer's true cost is much higher than the advertised $129 price tag. Keep that in mind, and you should be able to strike a good balance between the costs and benefits of owning a printer.

HP SMART, ON THE OTHER HAND, IS NOT
3/5

The recommended software (from the Microsoft Store) has no other option than to "search" for a printer, which made the process extremely inconvenient. There's no way to manually connect to a wifi network and enter the security password because there's no LED display, it won't connect to 5G (and won't tell you), and it never connected despite the pretty pulsing purple light. I had to go online to find the drivers and software to download (DO NOT do it from the Microsoft Store), and then connect it to a computer using a USB cable (not included). 5G wifi. Finally, I gave up and decided to use it with the USB. This is not for a newbie or someone who has a secure network. Oh, and HP wants to put a lot of bloatware on your computer. It's not a good idea to go through with it.

After 32 days, the printer broke
3/5

I'm in need of assistance in returning to my home and obtaining a replacement. No one is willing to help. On April 23, I received the printer. The printer malfunctioned on May 24th. All of the lights in the room are turned on, and the printer is plinking. This will not be printed. From 10 a. m. to 6 p. m. on May 26th, I spoke with tech support. They claimed they had never seen anything like it and that they were unable to help. I couldn't return it after the 23rd of May, according to Amazon. The printer is not working and is still covered by the manufacturer's warranty. HP suggested that Amazon fix it, but Amazon stated that they would not accept it back. I'm looking for someone to fill in for me. What am I supposed to do?.

Set up an impossible situation
3/5

set for a nightmare The HP software for setting up the computer was ineffective. I returned the printer and was given a complete refund. br>I spent an hour on the phone with tech support, and they even gave me remote access to my laptop. Tech had no idea what he was doing, and his servers went down in the middle of the process! My laptop had to be rebooted, disk check corrected some errors, and now it won't connect to my blue tooth mouse! I've bought several HP laptops and printers and have always been pleased with my purchases. No more.

The setup can be a pain, but the rest of the experience is fantastic! If you don't carefully follow the steps in the "HP Easy Start" setup program, you'll end up in big trouble! Because I built in the second cartridge in a "freestyle" fashion, I was bombarded with an armada of obscure error messages
4/5

If the printer insists on the cartridges being inserted in a certain order, simply run it in one-shot mode. You'll be fine if you use cartridge mode before installing the second, rejected one. br>br>What you get from the operational printer is great quality for a very reasonable price; even "Instant Ink" is now worth a look since HP significantly increased the number of subscription options.

The worst printer that has ever existed
3/5

This printer has been nothing but a headache for me. To begin with, the printer itself does not have a menu. You must make every effort to complete all tasks using your smartphone. Connecting to a Mac is extremely difficult. It's constantly having problems, and I spent 3 1/2 hours with tech support today trying to get it fixed. They continued to do the same things over and over. I wasted 45 sheets of paper by having it print out garbage about printer information reports, and now they're telling me to wait a few more days and they'll contact me. Like Covid 19, stay away from this printer! It's the most user-unfriendly printer ever, and when combined with a Mac, which is also user-unfriendly, it's a recipe for disaster. Basically, I don't have a printer, and I doubt HP will ever be able to fix it because they've tried everything and are still doing the same things.
