My photo printing turned out to be of excellent quality. It's not easy to adjust the paper feed system the first few times you use it, but it gets a lot easier after that. br>There is a 1/16" white strip on top and bottom, which is a minor detail.

Yes, it has a hinge on the back. The back hinges appear to be capable of lifting the book higher than just a page, but it does so. In order to scan one or two pages, I usually lift up the top of the scanner. making use of the document feed

My Canon all-in-one camera After more than 5 years of service, one printer died, but it had never printed color graphics to my satisfaction, so I replaced it with this all-in-one printer. Brother sent me one. Customer reviews and four different rating lists helped me make this decision.
Pros: It was very simple to set up the printer. The machine's screen guided me through the process, and it was possibly the simplest electronic device I've ever used to set up. The paperwork in both provided a web address with easy-to-follow instructions that allowed a simple, but not quick, loading of the software drivers for all of the house's devices. With black ink on white paper, the printer does a fantastic job. Single-sided and double-sided documents are produced quickly, with crisp text and a pleasing appearance.
Cons: While the printer is excellent for black-and-white documents, it struggles with color. Colors are muted and dull, as if the device was skimping on ink rather than having a problem with the ink's color. Purple is a color with a particularly low saturation level. Although there are no gaps or breaks in the ink, it does not match the color of the graphic. The file I'm comparing was printed on both my company's and my personal printers. The print from work is a deep, vibrant purple, whereas the print from home appears to have been bleached by the sun all summer. br>The printer does not adjust to different paper stock thicknesses automatically. Plain paper and label paper were used in the experiment. This is a quick adjustment on the printer's screen, so I consider it more of an FYI than a disadvantage.
It accomplishes the task at hand. Pros: br> Almost Flawless Setup, EASY Overall (with one exception, see notes below)br> CHEAP Price: A similar model will cost you $55 more elsewherebr> TINY Footprint, this is a small model that does everything you need for an 8. Cons: 5x11br>br>
- This is the WEIRDEST USB cable location you'll ever see. br>To find the plug, open the scanner (under), then wrap your cable around the model and tuck it in. It's strange. br>Watch one of the LINKS/VIDEOS on YouTube. They'll take you step by step through the process. (The printer's instructions don't go into great detail on this. )
- There's a lot of noise coming from this printer. Even the wheels turning are audible to you.
So. When deciding where to put it, keep this in mind. In general, it's a nice little desktop printer. br>br> br>It does what it's supposed to do, and it's currently on sale for a very reasonable price. It's adequate for most desktop tasks and comes at a reasonable price. EDIT: br>br> If you're printing art images with this printer. Please reconsider your position. br>I've tried everything I can think of to get it to print high-quality images, but it doesn't work. br>This is a text printer, not an image printer. You should be aware of this.
One is color, despite the fact that I have a separate fax machine. br>The printer was purchased from Amazon. com at 6 p. m. yesterday 00 p. I went ahead and installed it right away because I needed to print some documents right away. br>I printed the test page FOUR TIMES and each time the yellow color was completely missing. I tried to "clean" the printer heads according to the instructions, but it didn't work. br>All of the printer manufacturers I previously owned had a phone number dedicated to assisting customers with printer setup. A TECHNICAL SUPPORT NUMBER WAS NOT WRITTEN ANYWHERE ON Brother's body! Unlike the Canon I replaced after 9 years of service, this printer's page support must be manually opened when the machine is copying/printing. br>The holders in the paper drawer (green, cheap plastic) are difficult to adjust, and I was afraid they would break. br>Last night, I was setting it up because I needed to print some urgent documents. br>I had a "chat" with a representative named "Luciano. " HE WAS OF NO ASSISTANCE AT ALL. br>When I looked up "Brother printers technical support" on the Internet, all of the results were from third parties, all of which seemed suspicious and untrustworthy. br>This morning, I spoke with a supervisor. I followed her instructions and was told that the yellow cartridge needed to be replaced. NEW CARTRIDGES WERE SUPPOSED TO BE HERE! I told her I wanted all of the cartridges replaced because they were clearly old and more were about to dry out. She refused, claiming that all she wanted to do was swap out the yellow cartridge. She went on to say that I should've purchased the printer from Brother rather than Amazon. com.
I work from home full-time as a technical writer. br>br>After years of dealing with higher-end Epson and HP printers, I decided to purchase this MFC- A few weeks ago, I was listening to 985DW on the radio. Instead of spending $300 to replace the Epson WP-2000, I spent only $100. For the past six months, I'd been battling 4630. The Brother software is better, and the extended warranty and ink costs are a fraction of what the Epson costs. It just works after I hooked it up and downloaded the most recent version. My recent Epsons, on the other hand, have not lasted more than two years. The Brother is a little slower, but the print quality is comparable, and the much smaller footprint is a major plus for my home office; I can print, copy, scan, and fax without issues, and connecting from my iPhone and iPad worked flawlessly, which was not the case with the Epsons. So far, everything has gone well. br>br> And that pleases me greatly. I'm also relieved that I won't have to fight with my multifunction device any longer.
