Brother Printer RSX4000 Electronic Typewriter with Dictionary (Renewed)

Compared with my last unit, this one is much lighter and streamlined, and for a girl like myself, that is a huge plus since my previous model was a huge chore to move and set up on any desk or table. A new power cord makes handling the device a lot easier, because the older version was quite stiff and difficult to manage. Here is a situation where being older does not necessarily make you a better person. Likewise, I never enjoyed the square style of the 80's/early 90's, it was certainly less pleasing to the eye than the one shown below. In my opinion, I appreciate Brother still making the keys taller and with a firmer feel than other brands. Not that the keys are hard to push, quite the contrary, but they increase the accuracy of the keys and there is a more classic typing feel than other brands. I gave it five stars since I received the product in exactly the condition it was The package was delivered within the specified delivery window and undamaged. The order was delivered even though the package was unprofessional and the ice storm hit Texas. I have been typing rough drafts on the typewriter. You can type an entire line before printing, and that's the best feature. Even though it may seem silly in this day and age of technology, the security it provides for original works makes it.

A workhorse label printer, the Brothers Label Printer, is one of my machines, but I needed a regular typewriter to fill out forms that weren't on the printer The SX-line was what I wanted, so I bought it I was able to purchase the 4000 at a reasonable price. The only problem was that it did not turn on when I plugged it in. This time, I checked twice We checked the plug for damage and made sure the switch was in the "on" position, but still no luck. Plugging in the machine slightly jiggled the plug in the wall socket and it came to life (I double-checked) To make sure the wall wiring was not faulty, I checked the wall socket This was not the case). I was able to fix this minor issue and the typewriter worked like a charm after that. You think you don't need a typewriter, right? Since I received it, I have used it a lot. There is a possibility to take the paper out of the copy tray and load envelopes and type the address on the computer and then send it to the printer and then re-copy the document on the original tray. You can either load the envelope on the typewriter and type the envelope or you can load the paper back into the copier. Besides typing stock certificates on stock certificates, I have used it to type on original certificates as well. It is really IMPOSSIBLE to do all these things electronically,.

Despite its age, this typewriter is still in very good condition. The set up proved a bit difficult at first and I initially thought it was a lemon, but the problem was I did not have the instructions
Call BROTHER and they told me what buttons to push and it started working right away. The one suggestion I have for Amazon. There is a need for reps to be more knowledgeable about the products they sell.

I really like it. There are some yellow spots on the keycaps, but considering when the thing was made. . .

My only complaint is that it looks as if the little metal guide that holds the paper against the roller was poorly repaired. In other words, it detached from the single strip of what appeared to be gorilla glue I used to secure it in place, and I had to attach it again. That's OK, I can fix stuff, but maybe the repair people will hear about it, since I'm the one doing the repairs It is not very effective whatever was applied to metal here does not adhere.
