Questions & Answers

I cannot get anything to play through USB. Are there any other users experiencing this problem?

My usb has not had any problems so far, but the wire remote no longer works after two

Was it a circular saw of a particular size that you used for this installation? I have found a 3 5/8 inch version closest to mine. It wouldn't do me any good to have a hole that's the wrong size It was a pleasure working with ?

If you use that combination, you will be able to get a snug fit. The portion of the unit that is inserted is located at 3 1/2". I used a handheld router to cut the hole since I was not installing into metal. It is my hope that this will be helpful.

How can I paint or remove the bezel? Can I order a black bezel?

Any surface can be painted if it has been properly prepared. No, it does not come off or come

I used it on my 2006 Sea Ray 240 Sundeck and it worked perfectly
5/5

This is a nice loud system with good bass (I especially like the +7 setting). I do not need a subwoofer The bass was so intense that I could feel it through my legs while sitting in the front rows. An old 8 GB FAT32 thumb drive I had that was laying around worked with Bluetooth fine, as did my Android Pixel 2 phone (I could walk 50 feet away and still work), and my USB dongle also worked. In order to install the replacement stereo, I had to enlarge the hole in the dash where the original Clarion stereo was located. As a result of an existing hole (see pic), it would not work with a hole saw. The original hole was enlarged by drilling dozens of smaller holes to make it bigger. At first, I had not connected the yellow wire to the accessory switch and so the system failed to power on. Rather than connecting the accessory wire to the red wire, I connected the yellow accessory wire to the yellow wire so that the accessory is always powered when the battery switch is turned on (this works fine for me since I always turn my battery off when not in use). So I ran 12 gauge tinned marine wire from a fused battery circuit to the Rockville receiver - this was to keep any issues to a minimum. Circuit designated for one particular purpose. I also ran 14 gauge duplex tinned marine wire to all speakers (see photo). Despite being 13 years old, the speakers still work fine. I don't see anything wrong with them, so they won't be replaced. We went out on the lake a couple of days ago and floated in the middle while scrubbing the inside of the boat. After running the system for an hour, it was shut down. So far, there have been no problems. The volume was set mostly between 10 and 20 while stopped, I did crank it up to top volume of 40 briefly just to test it.

A very poor customer service experience I have not been able to use the radio I attempted to contact support via email, but the website stated that there was only email support
3/5

After days of back and forth emails, no help was provided. It was reported to me that the phone system is down when I called for assistance. The fact that a phone system is down for a week is a bit baffling. It was a matter of explaining how my two batteries were connected in parallel at one point. In order to power the batteries, I had to wire them My radio might not run properly with 24 volts, not my current 12 volts. I've given up on the radio at this point.

It is not a good idea to turn left
3/5

The Marine Unit from Gauge Marine has a great reputation, so I thought I would give it a try. After ordering the 8" Marine Rockville speakers, it took me about two weeks to receive them. My boat now has these installed, and I am extremely excited to have them connected. However, I always want to make sure that everything works before making holes in the Connected to a 12 volt battery and noticed 1 speaker wouldn't work. In this case, the left channel on the receiver was blown, so I swapped the speakers and found neither speaker to be faulty. The seller immediately responded to my message (this is day 3 of the exchange) but I haven't heard back from him. It has been two days since I filed a claim on Amazon and there has been no response from the seller. It was awesome that the speakers were so good, but the receiver was terrible. In the meantime, I just want my money back, and I will inform you if I hear back from the seller. It is my intent to have my new tunes on my boat by next weekend, although I will not be switching to Rockville since I already ordered a different brand to replace the Rockville unit. The seller should be aware of the following It happens to everyone, but a faulty product coupled with poor customer service means I will not be buying any more Rockville products in the future.

You should test your installation before implementing it
3/5

A (update). I am lucky that I tested the install before it installed, otherwise I would be in even greater distress. As part of a car restoration project, I am looking to install this. The old factory radio would remain in place as the new radio will be mounted on a discrete location and a wired remote will be placed There are currently two non-profits that I am working with There have been no replies from support at all for two remotes that worked but now I'm not getting anything. It may be a bad remote or it may be the unit, but I'm feeling stuck with it right now. If it's not equipped with a remote control, this receiver is of no use to me. A little update to the 6/8/2021 update Customer support has contacted me again regarding the unit. They are working with me to send it in This review has been updated again after I have sent it back.

It's a great unit with a lot If you do not connect BOTH power wires, the device will not function
5/5

I really love this head unit for my boat. You can use it with or without an amp, with or without wiring. It puts some power to the speakers no matter how you wire it. Considering what I have seen so far, there is no way to go wrong with this head unit. The hole had to be enlarged to mount this replacement head unit compared to the clarion head unit before it. The 1-way will be the same for them all It has a low rating of one star because there are no reviews. In order to connect the power, you must connect two wires. If the unit's yellow memory wire is not connected to power, it will not turn on. The red wire is the main power line and the yellow memory line is the memory line. As of now, I am very impressed with this head unit, and it is much better than the clarion I previously had in the boat. Considering that speakers like Kicker 8" make excellent use of this amplifier, I may not even add an amp!.

This is great in a This season, I used it quite a bit
5/5

There is only one thing that I do not like about the interface The device should have dimming capabilities, or be able to run in the night. This is on my dashboard, so it sticks out a bit in the sun. The price is low enough that I am able to afford it. There seems to be no problem with Bluetooth. Not a lot of time was spent on it as its primary purpose was simply to install a working radio, and this one was adequate. It would probably be better if they upgraded their speakers, but for now it's fine. As for my boat, I don't use the remote, as it doesn't add anything to it. Having this option, in case it is needed, is very nice.

It's amazing what stereo can do! Over the past 25 years, I have been installing stereos
5/5

A big snob of sound, I am also. The unit includes all of the components that you could want to install and connect to amps, Bluetooth, USB, and anything else you could need! Furthermore, the sound is absolutely amazing! The remote was much bigger than the hole used by my old stereo remote, which I hoped would fit it. Having pulled one of my many cup holders out, I sat it down in there, it is actually a pretty convenient place to put There is one thing that I do not like, and that is the remote which has the LED's illuminated 24/7. If your boat sits for a long time between runs, it will drain the.

I installed the system on my Boston Whaler center console of 13 feet
5/5

The wiring for my 13' Boston Whaler that was converted to a center console has been completed just yesterday. Installing the car head unit on the boat was no different than installing it on my own car. I've installed a few head units on my own cars before. On my whaler 13', there is no need to install the remote since it operates from there. Only the programming of the stations is a problem with this head unit. In the same way as Oh my gosh! Fortunately, I was able to program one of the six channels, but the instructions do not make sense to me.
