In my case, I only use it as an FM radio the canbus only becomes useful if you have other marine equipment, like GPS, chartplotters, etc. The device is not connected to a canbus. You do not need it, in a nutshell.
There would be some kind of adapter needed if you have a double din opening. It is approximately the size of a single din.

I installed the TJ stereo dash bezel over the unit to hold it in place since it was such a tight fit. In any case, it is a fantastic stereo and works so well for a Jeep that is occasionally exposed to water. I think this is a great deal! Please note Despite the buttons being large, they are easy to press without looking at them *- This design is simple and easy to use (almost OEM after you cover the logos). It is comfortable to operate the volume wheel while driving since it is large. A water resistant, easy-to-use device that can be used even with muddy or wet hands - It's great that the screen can toggle between day and night modes
- You can get the most useful weather information from the weather radio if you live near the coast or anywhere with maritime weather bands* In general, the operation is relatively simple and straightforward
There are a few disadvantages though You won't find a clock in it
- Wearing polarized glasses as well as driving are not a good combination (surprising, since this is intended for boats)*- It's difficult to see the screen when exposed to direct sunlight (which is particularly surprising since it's designed for boats).
As far as I can tell, I would not buy it again. I would like to return it, but I cannot, as far as I can tell, return it. Using the user interface is difficult because it is confusing, makes no sense and is near impossible to use. To get it working again, I had to restore the factor settings a few times. A BEAUTIFUL UPDATE. Once I received an address for the return, I finally reached out to the seller. My shipping costs will need to be paid. As soon as they get it, I'll let you know.
From an old Clarion marine stereo system from 2002 it was a snap to replace. Despite being pleased with the product, the customer service was even better. After two weeks, I had trouble getting sound coming from my speakers. Since I had a fine amp and speakers, it was the stereo that caused the problem. Having contacted the seller about my situation, I explained my predicament. There was no question asked, they sent the new 2 day air along with the shipping labels to send back the old one. As it turns out, it was just a misdiagnosis on my part and just required more research and digging It was a great experience and I am very pleased with the product.
It is evident that the box has been opened, as the radio is not producing I want my money back in 2 weeks and I don't want any sound!.
I am talking about the PMX- I replaced my old head unit in my boat with 5 and it worked just fine. With its simple buttons and sub controls on the front, it is easier to operate. A dual zone head unit is also a great way to upgrade older.
The package was delivered dead on arrival. You will get a refund if you return.
The sound is great. It is hard to get a good bluetooth distance. There are fewer than 10 feet between the buildings. I really dislike how slow it is to charge my phone with USB. The potential for expansion is good. Breakeven at best.
If I were to bur again, I would definitely do it.
