Questions & Answers

Do you have a microphone that can be used to make wireless calls?

Yes, there is a microphone included in the package.

What is the time it takes for Bluetooth to auto-connect? When you turn on the device, does it automatically connect?

My other vehicle's factory Bluetooth connects much more slowly than the JVC radio. I don't have a precise time, but it's close enough.

Is it possible to turn off the stereo's lights, for example, when driving at night?

There is a night setting that dramatically reduces the brightness of the lights. You can adjust the auto dimmer and brightness settings.

Is this suitable for use on a motorcycle?

I'd look into a deck that is similar to that of a ship. This isn't a water-resistant item.

It works well, but the description and directions could be improved
3/5

The radio's operation is satisfactory to me. The sound quality is excellent, and I believe it is deserving of four stars. br>br>However, I believe the description should make it MUCH clearer that you must purchase a separate Stereo Wiring Harness that is specific to your vehicle, as well as a separate steering wheel control interface (ASWC-1). If you want your steering wheel controls to work, you'll need to have 1) installed. At AutoZone, the stereo wiring harness was only $20, which was a good deal (and I didn't have much of a choice). To connect the wires, you'll need butt connectors, which are inexpensive and don't require any special knowledge. The steering wheel interface, on the other hand, costs $40, which I thought was ridiculous. As a result, I don't use the steering wheel controls anymore, which is inconvenient. My goal was to replace a broken radio with one that had bluetooth and an aux input, and $60 seemed reasonable, $80 was acceptable, but $120 was not. br>br>I also believe the installation manual could be improved, though I went to YouTube and found a plethora of well-made videos on how to replace a car radio that were extremely helpful. Finally, if your current radio is a "double DIN" (two "slots" thick), this is a single DIN radio, and you will need to purchase a single DIN installation kit to cover the "hole" created when a double DIN radio is removed. They are reasonably priced at $8. This isn't a dig at the vendor or the product; it's just something I forgot about and needed to get later. I'll take responsibility for that one.

JVC KD- The X270BT Digital Media Receiver is a digital media receiver with a Bluetooth connection
4/5

I recently received my JVC KD- Yesterday afternoon, I purchased a 270BT Digital Media Receiver, and today I installed it. I replaced another JVC receiver with a KD-XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX I installed a 570S in a Street Rod I built more than 20 years ago, and it was a great receiver with CD that was still like new after only 2,000 miles. I wanted to upgrade from a CD player to one with Bluetooth capability for hands-free phone calls and music files, so I went with the JVC KD-XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX 270BT. It appeared to be the ideal unit for my car, and so far it has performed admirably and, with its red lights surrounding the receiver mounted in a red dash, it looks great. The remainder of the Receiver is made of black. The Directions, on the other hand, were something I didn't care for. They don't know how to set up this radio. I believe they could have done a much better job, and the manual appears to have been printed on newspaper. My biggest gripe with the Receiver so far is the lack of a newspaper-quality manual in black and white; otherwise, I would have given it 5 stars. I'm gradually becoming accustomed to using this receiver. What I can say is that the Bluetooth functionality is excellent. From what I've seen today, very clear calls, and I was told I sounded very clear on the other end. I'm using it with my iPhone 7, and the music from my iTunes library sounds great through it. This radio is supposed to allow me to listen to Pandora and Spotify. That I haven't had the opportunity to try yet, but I do have it on my iPhone. Maybe the next day. It gives me an excuse to take my car out for another ride, which I don't get to do nearly as often as I'd like because it's a collector car rather than a daily driver.

Fantastic improvement over KD- X250BT
5/5

The KD- The X270BT is an excellent upgrade and replacement for the KD-2000. 250BT. The KD- When I turn on the X270BT, it immediately connects to my Pixel 4a 5G. Once established, the connection is impenetrable. Since installing the unit, there have been no connection dropouts. The audio via Bluetooth is excellent. The quality of the phone calls is excellent. The Google Assistant commands are correctly understood and responded to. br>br>The only issue with installation is that the new KD-II isn't compatible with the old KD-II. The KD-270BT has a different wiring harness plug than the KD-270. 250BT. There is no way to go back in time. revert to the original KD- Wiring harness for the 250BT. Thankfully, the wire colors and functions of the two (2) harnesses are identical, making it a simple matter of removing the old harness wire splices and replacing them with the new harness. br>br>The KD-KD-KD-KD-KD-KD-KD-KD-K 270BT has a much lower depth-of-field. a lot more astute than KD- 250BT. The new KD-100 is able to operate at a shallower depth because of the shallower depth. The 270BT is small enough to fit in the same space as the KD- 250BT. This is the trim and mounting kit that I used on my KD- 250BT was immediately transferred to the KD- 270BT. br>br>I am extremely happy with the new KD- 270BT.

This is completely ineffective
3/5

This was purchased in the hopes of improving the sound quality of my system, but it fails to do so. This unit has no low end and is extremely tinny in sound. I replaced an old Pioneer head unit that didn't have an amplifier and was notorious for delivering the low end. I'm waiting for new speakers to arrive to see if that makes a difference, but I don't think it will. It says 22 Watts RMS, which is higher than the 17 Watts RMS on my pioneer. It should've sounded better just because of that. Continue your search.

Excellent value for the money
4/5

For my 2006 Sprinter van, I needed a low-cost Bluetooth radio. The first attempt involved a $35 j e n s e n radio with poor radio reception. br>This JVC was around $90 when I found it. br>It's only been a few hours since I installed it, but it's already made an impression on me. It came with a microphone and its own wire harness. br>For the Sprinter, I soldered and shrink tubed the JVC harness to a Metra harness adapter. br>A Bluetooth phone call to my wife was clear and pleasant to listen to. My iPhone's Bluetooth music sounded fantastic. br>Radio reception was excellent, far superior to that of the Jensen unit I had previously tested. br>Because I listen to talk shows on the radio, I also required strong AM reception. It has a feature to input the size and location of your speakers, as well as multiple sound adjustment settings. br>The Sprinter van only has front 4" speakers in the dash board, so no big bass sounds, but it sounds quite impressive with new JBL speakers. br>The face plate is detachable, but there is no carrying case included. br>On the front, beneath a flip-up cover, is a USB port. up door. br>The lighting is orange/red in color and can be programmed to react/pulse in time with the music.

It's just a cheap radio that does the job
4/5

First and foremost, programming is extremely difficult. Even for someone like me who has tuned a lot of radios, it's very perplexing. I usually avoid JVC because I prefer Pioneer/Alpine, but the customer required a low-cost solution, and it appeared to be a nice compact unit with only two RCA ports, which was fine for what I needed to do but keep in mind for future applications.
