In the Amazon advertisement it states a $70 online/mail in rebate, but there is no rebate. I called Siriusxm and Amazon and they both said that the retailer was to blame. Although I enjoy the radio, I do not think you will be able to receive your $70 rebate and before you can even ask about it, you will need to give SIRIUSXM a credit card and pay a set-up There is no boat radio in it, so it is a scam.

It is referred to as waterproof, but it does not meet that description. A bit of light rain can still result in the face of the plastic being full of heavy condensation inside. For it to dry, I have to leave it open. As far as I'm concerned, it would likely be fine in a protected area, but in an exposed location I would only use it for marine electronics that can withstand moisture exposure. There's plenty of depth and room to move around As a result, I put my marine stereo in it along with an external SXM receiver. They both fit nicely in the box with wires. There are 2 round outlets in the back of the box to receive wiring, and both have rubber gaskets, which are about 1/2" in diameter.
The sound system is fine, but the Sirius XM receiver was destroyed by moisture after two weeks. The first house had speakers and power and the second house had a satellite antenna, the remote and the power cables. In this way, both gaps have been filled. It was barely possible to fit my single pair of heavy duty speaker wires into the first hole, I would have had to drill for more access if I wanted to use a second pair. The standard speaker wires should work fine, but it's best to use standard wires. It has plenty of space on the inside of the housing for electronics and tools It has wires, but the back of the box has a small opening for wire entry. That is to say, it is not water-proof. The splash guard is more like it.

There is a gap at the top of the transparent door where the seal is not completely tightened. Approximately the thickness of a finger nail lies in the gap left after the hole was filled. In regular rain, the water is absorbed right away. However, it would have been a five-star review if this were not the case. One of its main claims is that it is waterproof, yet it failed miserably to deliver this benefit. I was sent a replacement within ten days, but as you might have guessed, the new unit suffers from the same issue. As far as fixing it goes, I am still looking for a solution.

There is no way to get all the wires through the back of this unit without taping them up in a bundle first, and a 'X' cut needs to be made on the back of the rubber water protection guards so you can get the cable and antenna through. Both of these were taken off and wires ran, and then they were reinstalled to the housing unit which was quite easy. Both of the rubber backings need to be cut at an "X". I am not sure if it is weatherproof since it is parked in the garage all of the time. As soon as I take it out on the bay, I will be able to tell if it ever stops raining. As there is no way of fastening the radio to the inside of the housing, I added a section of memory foam to keep it from jumping around.

My favorite thing about the door is that it opens all the way, almost 180 degrees. It keeps me Many of the other waterproof covers do not open fully. The cover is very clear, and it looks like acrylic rather It's convenient that it's open, I can see straight through the plastic door, no tint in my case, I need to see buttons underneath, when it's open, it's cool because I can see something underneath. Also inside the clear plastic cover is a soft grommet that pushes against the clear plastic when closed, forming a water-resistant seal Seal that does not permit air to pass through. There has to be a slightly larger hole cut in the dash, since the radio sleeve is threaded through this. The hole is not much larger than a standard DIN radio, maybe an eighth of an inch in diameter. For some of the radio covers with a cover that rolls back over the top of the radio, a larger hole is needed. This is just a picture of the materials in place. It has not actually been installed yet, just held in place so I can take a look. I like the way it looks. When it's installed, it'll move back about a quarter inch and will be flush with the frame. Also, I was able to tighten the white DIN frame on my radio so it won't stick It's a lot to take in, but it will make sense eventually. In a couple of days, I'll try to post a picture of the finished product.

I was shocked when my radio lost its power after filling with water the first time it rained. The item you are looking for is not available. There is a leak at the front of the unit, because the front seal is not completely sealed. Due to its solid seal and lack of drain holes, the back of the cabinet was completely submerged in water after the big storm. My radio just sat there!.

I noticed when I unpacked the product that it did not compress the seal very much between the cover and housing to prevent water from getting into the radio, which was why I bought it in the first place. In order to verify that the cover wasn't waterproof, I tried sliding a piece of paper between the cover and housing. The paper easily slipped between the two parts, proving it wasn't In sum, this is a great design, but it will not work if it doesn't compress the seal between these two parts, otherwise it won't prevent water from getting to your radio, as it is designed to do.
