Additionally, there is an HDMI input that can be used to connect a second device, and Aftermaster can therefore switch between two devices with the touch
You will not hear any improvement in sound quality if you use a Dolby surround sound system. In order to disable surround sound, you would need to disable the encoding inherent in the system. The analogy here is more suited to regular TV speakers, as well as sound bars. A sound bar with optical output is the right product for you if you only have an optical sound bar.

I can answer the best way I can without knowing exactly what connection you have. Two (2) inputs and one output are available on the aftermaster. Both (2) of the source inputs can be selected as output sources. From your statement, I believe you have a single output from your AV receiver that you currently have hooked up to your TV, and the AV receiver is used to select what source, like a DVR, a Blueray player, or a DVD player, goes to that output. In my opinion, if you did not need more than one (1) aftermaster, it would receive the same signal the TV/Soundbar currently receives. It may be helpful to you.

As described in the product description, this product does exactly what it is intended to, but I am having a similar issue that another customer had. After I turn off my TV ( not the cable box ), I turn off my computer. In the next few days, I won't be able to hear anything on my TV. There is nothing acceptable about this. Decided to return the item until I decide whether to keep it or return it.
I absolutely love this product because it enabled me to turn my TV's small speakers into a theater sound system. And the best part of all is that background noise has gone into the background and voices have come to the fore. During quiet scenes, there is no need to turn the TV up and down. This unit has also been tested with a TV that already has a sound bar connected. A sound bar gets its sound from the TV, so the after master sound system is already re-wired The sound needs to be mastered. It's wonderful how the change has come about! Make sure the music is playing. The sound is as if you are at a concert. For older men like me who have hearing problems, this is a must-have, but my son considers it a slick idea. You should give it a try no matter what your age is.

There is no need to be complicated about it, so I bet. As well, there are four lights, but I have only spotted two so far. How about two buttons, one for the "On" button and one for the "Off" button? Since they can only be used on one TV, I contacted the manufacturer (Aftermaster) and they accepted the return with no problems. I was refunded the full shipping costs (I paid the return postage). They deserve a pat on the back. Put a wireless receiver on them so that they are able to be their own source for streaming and let me know how it goes.
bought two AterMaster Pro machines and they worked like a charm for a little over a A short while later, both units, on separate TVs and cable boxes, suddenly failed to transmit a picture to the TV, while they continued to function on the sound front. The units have been disconnected from other TVs and cable boxes, and the cables have been swapped out. I have done all the troubleshooting in the manual and finally contacted Aftermaster support. They have simply stopped working and nothing has been done to bring them back to life. I strongly recommend people to avoid buying this device since it is very low quality.
Finished the project today and got the product. I had no problems setting it up. This is my TIVO to Aftermaster to Sony 4K TV setup. There is definitely a noticeable improvement in the sound of the spoken word. Background music and sound quality are good, but at present we cannot say that there is a real improvement in the quality of music or sound. Although the spoken word range appears clear, the music and background sound could just be the result of volume boosting. I have a parallel optic to DAC to older amp/Bose speaker system, and the Aftermaster to TV speakers doesn't compete with general sound with that system. As a whole, we're glad we won't have to rely on the louder sound There is a drawback I've noticed early on, which is the Aftermaster Pro generates a lot of heat. I suspect that leaving the Aftermaster Pro on all the time might cause problems.
Boosting the volume was all it did. When it was working, it was fine. I had to pause the audio every time it cut completely, so I had to reboot the device. I can not endorse this product.
