Definitely a kid's size. It is possible to adjust the head band up to a large size, but you can't adjust the ear pillows. Because they are used to adult sizes, my kids did not like It won't take them long to get used to it, however. It was an excellent value for the price

We needed to drive long distances with two small boys. It was common among older kids to have a phone, game system, etc. For the younger two however, we had no other option but to use the dual screen DVD player. It's like the lion king on repeat for 16 hours and I bought these so we wouldn't have to listen to it that way! The movie could not be heard and their movie could barely be heard. The headphones did not hurt their ears at all either, so that was great news too. I put on a set before we actually took off to make sure the sound wasn't too loud and that the sound quality was decent. It is definitely worth it.
