Questions & Answers
The case and fan are all that are involved. It is not suited for stratux setups due to the lack of heatsinks, but otherwise it is a very nice case to use. There is no need to press anything into place, including the Raspberry PI mother board. I used red silicon to attach the CPU and other ICs, which I made myself.
There is nothing in the way of the fan. My antenna had to be moved to make room for the AHRS chip, and some plastic had to be cut away.

My favorite feature of this fan unit is that it is quiet. Despite their tight fit, the plastic clips on the case cover are sturdy. This pin snaps into place on the RaspberryPi. The U-shaped portion of the object consists of two segments Despite having channels for holding the antenna cords, I can't make the cords stay put.
It needs to be drilled with two holes at the bottom to allow the antennas to be routed correctly.
I just assembled it. This is my second Stratux case and it is well built and well thought out.
This is not cheap but well designed and constructed. As my first case, I found it pretty fragile so I bought this one as it wasn't the same as my previous case. I just have it put together but it seems easy to "build" it in comparison to the other (clear) case available. All the parts snap together and fit and work perfectly. The new case is much much nicer than the other one This is a highly recommended book.
As well as the antenna leads, it features bosses on the case for the SMA antenna nuts, and clips for the antenna nuts. This cooling fan can move a great deal of air while the case is very sturdy. The suction cups will be used to mount it on my 172's back window and leave it in the plane for all to see! I believe this to be one of the best designed Stratux cases I have seen so far. Unless we build a new version of this case that incorporates a charging circuit and battery, my only recommendation is to build another version of this case.
This was used to create my ADS-B When Jean Luc Picard was able to read the Cardassian transponders with the B dual band receiver, I fully understand why some of the Cardassians became concerned.
The project is a lot of fun to mess with.
A quiet fan with an easy USB connection is easy to assemble.
It does not contain any instructions in any way. I hate you. In addition, wires from the antenna slide around on top of the Raspberry Pi. I hate you. It does not have a ground plane for antennas. I hate you. In addition to no plastic screws, there is no support for the Raspberry Pi. I hate you. A 19-dollar price tag for 4 cents' worth of plastic and a very cheap fan seems a bit steep. I hate you. The fact that the shipping for a light this large is $5 is absolutely ridiculous. This is a bad idea. Cutting for SD card is a bit too small for hands of adults. I hate you. It does not have a fan for the most hotly used component of the system, the SDRs. This is a bad idea. *There are no suction cups for mounting. I hate you. Is that (C? A ) mount is a nice touch, but I do not know of any aircraft with C mounts.
