The battery is in good working order and was purchased for the Nook model BNRV100, which I believe is one of the first!

I've had the Nook for over ten years, and it didn't appear to be charging. Part of the problem, I believe, was due to loose USB cable connections. I was also having issues with my laptop, which I use to download eBooks from the library. So I blew out the dust from the cable ends, cleaned them with alcohol, and tried to pull up the small protrusions that are supposed to firm up the connection. I couldn not raise them enough to click” audibly, but they are a little better, and this new battery quickly charged to 100%. It did, however, discharge overnight for the first few days. I was terrified because I despise new eBook models. I despise the fact that they all have lights. The original plain e-mail appeals to me more. My lighting is required by an ink reader. I'm not sure what I'll do if this old machine breaks down completely. I've already used a Kindle and another reader, both of which had lights that I could dim or turn off, which I did. Even when the lighting was good, I found the background to be too dark for good contrast. They were both returned to me. (br>This battery appears to work for the time being, though I think I could have made do with the last one once the connections were cleaned up. ) You probably won't be able to get an Ereader with a replaceable battery any time soon. I intend to make this one last as long as possible, even if that means disassembling it and cleaning out the insides, or purchasing an old one for parts. If your old Nook isn't working properly, a new battery might be the answer. Here are a few more tips I've picked up along the way. To reboot (which has been known to fix some issues), press and hold the top power button as well as the upside down U above the touch screen for 20 seconds. If the books you downloaded aren't there, go to the Nook via "this pc" (Windows PCs) and delete your oldest entries (unless you own them, in which case you'll want to back them up first). If it's too full, your Nook won't accept any more eBooks and won't even tell you. (Because I only borrow, I believe my items are merely placeholders. ) In any case, they appear to be space hogs on the Nook. ) You might want to give down-sizing a shot. ADE 3 is the highest possible grade. Adobe Digital Editions, version 0 (Adobe Digital Editions). I've always had issues with the most recent version. I manually open Adobe Digital Editions 3 before downloading eBooks. 0 to prevent the newer version from loading by default, and removing and replacing the same battery has also been known to resolve mysterious issues. Once you've broken the connection between the front and back, I believe I read somewhere that you should slide the back off. Now I just gently pry them apart with a thin screwdriver, putty knife, or nail file. Insert where you see a slot and twist slightly until you hear a snap. Continue looking for more snaps along the seam until it begins to come apart. Make sure you don't break it by not paying attention. Sorry, but I never got around to fixing the annoying "unknown author" problem or installing an SD card for additional storage.
There was no electricity in the battery when it was delivered. In most cases, this is a bad sign. I got slightly longer battery life after charging than I did with the nook's original battery. It wasn't much better, but it worked, so I decided to go with it. I've read a few books and charged it a few times without any problems. I put it away after about a month. After 5 months of use, the nook is acting strangely. Several times it turns off at random. All of the settings and books that were saved have vanished. The factory reset was completed on its own. I reload my books and get a few hours of reading time before it abruptly shuts down. Nothing. There will be no charge. I replaced the old battery that came with it, and the nooks began to function normally again. I'm giving the manufacturer the benefit of the doubt and assuming it was just an old stock battery that sat on an Amazon warehouse shelf for far too long without being charged, thus the two stars instead of one.
I got a "dead" Original Nook from a family member, which was only missing the original battery. This was purchased as a replacement, and now the Nook can be used! If this battery bloats like the original, I'll update this review, but so far it's been fantastic! br>br>I'm not sure where this was shipped from, but it took a long time to reach me in the Midwest.
I had an old Nook that I was trying to use, but it wasn't working. Then I noticed the back was a little bulky, and I realized the battery had burst; thankfully, the Nook was unaffected, and I was able to order a replacement. This one arrived (after a long wait), but it fit perfectly, and my Nook is now operational once more.
My old battery couldn't last more than a day before it needed to be recharged. This battery has done a fantastic job so far. It appears to charge in a very short period of time. Even with daily use, it doesn't need to be recharged until about the fifth day. It was simple to set up and instructions were included. This product has exceeded my expectations.
There were no issues at all. Installing it was a breeze. It does exactly what it says.
In my first-generation NOOK (the black and white one with the small color screen at the bottom), it was incredibly simple to replace. It also functions in the same way as the original battery. I only need to charge it once or twice a week to read on the bus on my way to and from work.
The specifications are slightly lower than the original battery, according to other reviews. It, on the other hand, fits perfectly. Although the box did not have enough charge to power up the nook (as expected), it was fully charged in under an hour. The first-generation nook tablet (the one with the color screen across the bottom) used this chip. Not only does it work perfectly, but it also appears that my nook is running better and faster than ever before! This is most likely due to the fact that I was still using the original battery, which had never been replaced.
