A broken screen on a 7" iPad. She proudly admitted to sitting on it and making a funny noise. . . . regardless of a child's safety case Anyway, since a glass splinter was unlikely, I decided to try a do-it-yourself repair before discarding it! I'm not afraid to try this because a cheap successful repair is like winning a new iPad! Bottom line, I'm back in business with the terrorist, so it's a fixable problem. . . . . . The screen/tools package deal is a great deal for $26 dollars if you put in some effort. I can't believe the Chinese can produce this iPad component plus tools for this price, deliver it to my front door, and everything fits and works perfectly; consider that any fast food burger joint charges nearly half this price for a burger, coke, and fries, and you have to go get it! WTFlip? My one and only experience with iPad repairs is as follows: watch several YouTube videos about your exact model. . . this minimizes the surprises and mistakes that may result in new or old parts costing more time and money to fix. Furthermore, you should stay patient, work slowly and be very gentle. . . if you do not already know the amount of force applied to the if everything turns out well. . . . Make sure the LCD screen is clean, then peel away the inner protective film from the new glass screen and place it in place. It's now time to enjoy the benefits of your new DYI iPad! I recommend this product, and its application in a repair is do-it-yourself (DIY) but time-consuming. Best of luck!.
A large metal piece is housed in the portion of the display near the home button on this replacement, which is much larger than it was on the original iPad display. Because of the few CM difference in width, no amount of medaling could make the display fit flush at the bottom. It just goes to show how important it is for each component of the display to be accurate. Otherwise, this display does its job and will tide you over until you can afford a new iPad. We just bought a protective case to keep the display in place at the bottom and prevent it from coming unglued.
Before moving on to the positive side, there are a few things to think about:br>- There are no specific instructions. Finding the right video to watch is unquestionably a difficult task. br>- The touch button is built in, but it is only for navigation, not for biometrics (I realized this after I fixed it, and now I can't open it to replace it with my original touch button)br>- The Ipad 5 requires a Philipps screwdriver size P00/ P000, but they only gave me a Start screwdriver (I was supposed to go back to Harbor Freight to buy the tool - br>- supplementary investment)br>- supplementary investment)br>- supplementary The stickiness of touch screens isn't great. It appears to be coming off on the right side of the iPad, where the connectivity cables are located. br>- It's a lot of work and a risky job, especially when stores like UbreakIfix can do it for $100, and when you factor in the time, screwdriver cost, and replacement screen value - it's a lot of money. Even so, I needed to go shopping with it. Because the screwdriver I had didn't fit the screws in the tablet, I had to find a smaller one. The new screen came with a ribbon cable that was too large and stiff, making things difficult, and the home button didn't work. I'll just have someone else take care of it.
Given that the iPad I was repairing had a shattered digitizer as a result of a fall strong enough to slightly bend the unit's metal housing; Even so, the digitizer had stuck surprisingly well.
However, the price is so good for this that I had to give it a shot. It went much more smoothly than I anticipated. I wish it had instructions because there are so many different ways to do it. I was able to figure it out after watching some videos and reading a few articles. My iPad's Touch ID home button was still functional, and replacing it wasn't difficult; I'd buy it again in a heartbeat.
Except for the fact that the home button was not working when I first bought and replaced the screen, I had no problems. After a few weeks, the screen began to malfunction, with glitches and incorrect options being selected. If you need a quick temporary replacement, this is an excellent option.
