I followed the instructions to the letter and double-checked that the glass was free of contamination. For about a minute, everything seemed to be going well, but then the glass began to lift. It created a moon-like effect, as shown in the photo. When it was lifted, it took on a spherical shape. When the tablet is on, it isn't noticeable, but it should have been adhered properly. Because it protects the tablet, I gave it three stars. There were two pieces of glass in the package, but I'll wait to replace it until this one is broken. I've bought this brand before for our Android phones and have never had a problem with it.
Edit: My screen sensitivity was definitely messed up as a result of it. I was able to pull it off, and now I'm on the hunt for something new. Original review: br>br> It went smoothly during the installation process. After the protective film came off, I had to lift it and search for dust stuck to the back of the screen protector. My iPad mini's touch response isn't quite right. With my normal technique, typing and tapping on objects both miss letters. Scrolling isn't the worst thing in the world. I'm thinking about removing the screen protector to see if that's the issue or if my screen had some glitches at the time I put it on. Le sigh.
You can watch a video to assist you with the setup. I recommend that everyone who will be installing do so. It provides instructions for perfectly aligning the screen. There were no bubbles and the screen went on without a hitch. With the screen protector in place, I haven't had any issues using my thumb print. The screen is clear, but it appears to pick up fingerprints more quickly than the original. That would be preferable to a scratched display.
I got a great deal on a used iPad Mini 4 with a great screen. I needed a screen protector that would protect my screen while also allowing me to see what I'm reading because I only use it for comic books. br>br>The Supershieldz were relatively easy to install. I had some alignment issues, and there are a few small but easily overlooked lint particles. The number of stickers included with the two screen protectors was one of the coolest features. Cleaning the screen, grabbing some tape (or, in this case, stickers), and going over the entire screen to remove all dust was a trick I had learned. One thing to try if catching a piece of lint under the screen protector is going after it with the sticker as well, though that tactic can (and has) bent my screen protector. br>br>It's an excellent purchase, and I'll continue to support this company.
I've been using screen protectors on phones and tablets for a long time and was never satisfied until I discovered Supershieldz. The first issue I had was with installation; I could never seem to get it quite right- Either the screen is misaligned or there are air/dust bubbles trapped beneath it. The second issue is that they would scratch or fade over time, causing me to have to deal with issue 1 all over again as I replaced the protector. These, however, are not among them. br>br> They've devised a nearly foolproof installation system. You must still exercise caution, read the instructions, and view their installation video. Then it's just a matter of getting it to work. I've done a few phones and tablets now and haven't had a single issue. These last a long time in use, and scratches appear slowly at first, with only a few minor ones. However, if you drop your phone frequently (as I do), the corners will become gnarly. They aren't pretty, but they are protecting my phone, in my opinion. That is why I protect my screen with a screen protector. br>br>Last but not least, the cost is reasonable. Two protectors are included in the kit.
This is not the first time I've had glass screens installed for what I do. It took me a long time the first time I tried this, just trying to get the right angle with the guide stickers. After I removed the sticker and aligned it exactly where it needed to be, bubbles appeared in the center of the screen that would not go away! I tried everything, including removing it and reapplying it, but it only made things worse! As a result, I assumed it was my fault, and I resorted to using the second screen. While I finally got rid of the bubbles, the camera's alignment is slightly off! I figured I could adjust it while it was setting because there was no room to do so. I don't want to take it off because anything I try will most likely result in a bunch of bubbles. I'm returning this garbage because I'm unhappy with it and replacing it with something else; as soon as I find something else, I'll have this shipped back to me as soon as possible. For something like this, it's a complete waste of time.
The only issue with this screen protector, as well as many others, is that if you use a flexible plastic case around the edges of your iPad, such as mine, the screen protector will lift up at the corners. So it's either the screen protector or the case for me, and I'm happy with both. I'm still undecided about which I should use.
These look great and are simple to put together. Even on an older iPad with an exposed screen and existing scratches, there were no bubbles. Touch and finger print oils are not a problem. They're almost as tough as the screen. These are required if you own an iPad Mini 4. In this model, the glass panel is fused with the display, making it relatively inexpensive to replace. If it cracks, you're looking at a $300 repair unless you go third-party, in which case it'll most likely be missing the cover sensor when it's returned (the cover sensor isn't built into replacement parts and requires micro-programming). Transferring the soldering to the replacement part). In any case, protecting the screen from scratches or reinforcing it is well worth the investment.
