This is not necessary if you purchased the Wolverine mighty 20 with slide trays. The trays were not included when I purchased the unit, so I purchased them to make it easier to use.
Yes, there are extras available.
I'm not sure what you're talking about with the. 4 and . Dimensions are 6 inches. They should work as long as they're standard 35 mm slide holders. They should also work if you're talking about the film's size, such as 16 mm or 8 mm film mounted in a slide holder. The dimensions of your. 4 and . The distance between the edge of the slide holder and the film opening could be 6 inches. They should work as long as the slide holder's thickness and outside dimension are standard.
You'd have to copy the slide, upload it to your computer, then size the photo with your computer software before printing it. The 20-megapixel slide copier produces good copies, but when printing the photo, make sure to print at 600 or 1200 dpi for good results. It won't work with the default of 300 doi. Check the dpi setting on your printer.

These were purchased to aid in the digitization of a large number of slides. br>Once you've loaded up these trays, which is the most time-consuming part of digitizing aside from sorting and orienting the slides, they really do speed things up. These trays come in a set of six. They are much faster than the Wolverine scanners' standard single feeder tray. br>A few weeks ago, we used a team approach to scan a collection of slides: Two other people scanned while one sorted and loaded. We had planned on a three-day trip. However, after a bag-cookie workout, we discovered that we were done. and-a- half. br>However, there is one snag: When these trays are snatched together, they are truly snatched together. It takes a little practice to open them up again easily, but it's a skill that can be learned quickly. If you plan on scanning more than a few slides at a time, I recommend using them.
Good slide holder, but the slide holder and the Titan scanner both need to be updated. The holder is difficult to open, but this is something that can be addressed. The holder is kept closed by three click locks that look like hooks. The hooks on this holder are too long, making it difficult to open. The solution is to use a file to file down the three hooks. The problem is now fixed. The slide holder will require four slide position markers to help center each of the four pictures in the Titan. The markers can be added, but this is something that the manufacturer should do. Because of a plastic tab in the Titan that sticks down in the center of the holder to help hold the slide holder in place, the holder does not slide evenly through the Titan. The Titan tab makes contact with the slide holder in the closed areas of the holder, but not in the open areas of the slide windows, resulting in very uneven slide holder movement through the Titan. The Titan's plastic tab should be moved to the side of the holder rather than over the open slide windows as a fix. If the Titan tab is always off to the side where it connects the slide holder, this will solve the problem and allow the slide holder to pass through the Titan evenly. I hope the manufacturer will make these improvements, which users will appreciate, in order to improve the slide holder even more.
Before making a purchase, I read all of the reviews. I was determined to obtain the highest quality item possible. Over 200 slides have been completed so far. I still have to "doctor" them in iPhoto, but it's fantastic. I would recommend purchasing the additional slide adapters (the longer ones hold more slides), but the one that comes with it is also useful. Some slides are too thick, warped, or whatever to fit in the longer adapters, but the single that comes with it works on every slide. Also, the longer adapters that hold four slides at a time (I believe they came in a set of three) sometimes cut off part of the slide, so some portrait view (up and down) vs landscape view (side to side) slides need to go through the single adapter sideways and then rotate it in iPhoto to avoid cutting off the top. I've started messing around with the super8 adapter; it works, but it's not going to be easy; I've been taking a screen shot every 16 frames. I've completed approximately 8-hours of work in total. So far, the film has been 12 inches long. Patience is what I'd advise in this case. We'll see if I can get my hands on an old super8 projector and film it off the wall with my iPhone. I did that with some slides before I bought this (used my slide projector and projected the images onto some rag art paper I had and shot it with my iPhone) and the quality was much better with the wolverine (not that the iPhone did a bad job, but the old projector simply didn't have enough resolution for printing). That is exactly what this wolverine is capable of. You will enjoy it if you purchase it.
Slides in plastic mounts, on the other hand, must be pressed into place. This is exactly how it should be - it works perfectly. Fits the Wolverine Titan scanner and holds four slides. However, this (along with the original Wolverine slide-holder that came with the scanner) is designed for slides in a CARDBOARD frame. IF you have your slides mounted in this manner - This is a fantastic method. br>If you have slides mounted in plastic frames (like I do), note that they must be forced because the plastic mount is just SLIGHTLY thicker than the cardboard mount. It IS possible, but you must exercise caution, and I believe it will only be a matter of time before I break one of these hinges. Every time I look at the unit, it bulges a little.
For my 35mm slides, I found this item to be useless. Using the Wolverine's single slide tray, which comes with the machine, was much easier and faster than using this four-slide tray. br>Sliding my 35mm slides one at a time was a lot faster and smoother than this. br>I got a refund when I returned it.
My Wolverine slide copier only came with one, so this was ideal. It's simple to open and close. I think they're overpriced at three for $25, but I couldn't find them anywhere else for less. br>I like them, but I'll only use them for a few weeks while I archive old 35mm slides.
If you'll be scanning several slides, this is a must-have. The Wolverine scanner comes with a one-slide tray; however, being able to load and scan four slides at once saves you a lot of time! The only disadvantage I've discovered is that you must precisely load the slides into the scanner, otherwise they will be much more difficult to scan. It's not a big deal at first, but after a few times, it becomes something you notice.
This is a great product for archiving slides, and the slide mounts aren't necessary. I sent them back because the slide holder that came with them is more than adequate.
