Hmmm. Was it an SD card you were trying to use? I'm not sure if "fail" is the right word. Because I was unable to get the SD function to work, I returned this.
SD Memory Cards up to 32GB are compatible with this device. You have a total of 2,080 photos to store. I hope this helps. Compressed (JPEG 100% quality) Images per 2016GB SD card and 4,161 Photos on a 32GB SD card.
Yes, if you only want to scan negatives, it's very simple to use. If you want to use an SD card or the SD function, however, you should think twice about this brand; I couldn't get the SD function to work at all and had to return it.
The images slides you scan can be saved on the (included) SD card, which you then remove from the scanner and insert into an SD card reader on your computer to upload. One word of caution: we recently scanned over 12,000 slides, and all of that work necessitates file security and peace of mind. For archival storage, we used 2TB Seagate and Transcend external hard drives (in rugged cases). Do not store all of the slides you scan/digitize on your computer's only main boot drive! If your computer's hard drive fails, you will lose all of your slide copies.

When it doesn't copy to an SD card, color balance, screen size, picture balance, and ease of use are irrelevant. I tried about 30 times to get it to copy after following the simple instructions (on the first one I bought). I dialed the number for an Amazon Technician. We couldn't get it to copy even though he walked me through each step. I returned the first one, and Amazon promptly sent me a replacement. in the same way I'm going to have to return it now. This device is useless unless it contains a trick. I attempted to access their website, but it does not appear on the screen. You have no access to a telephone number or technical assistance. In their booklet, there is no page dedicated to troubleshooting. I'll try a better and more diverse unit next time.
I'm in the process of digitizing all of my old black-and-white photographs. I can capture black-and-white and color negatives and slides in a variety of sizes and formats, but I can't get it to capture 126 (square) edge-to-edge images. edge. As a result, I'm forced to crop to a rectangular raster that I didn't intend to use.
br> The device is simple to operate and has proven to be extremely useful in sorting through a large collection of family slides that I had never seen before. While negatives from the 1960s and 1970s still appear to be a shade of blue or orange (I haven't tried anything newer), 35mm slide scanning is incredible.
The SD card was only occasionally recognized. When I tried to transfer the photos to a computer, it was empty if it was recognized. br>I ordered and returned a second scanner because it failed to recognize the card. br>I tried another card and got the same result with both.
