I also have old slides from the 1960s and 1970s that I use in the Medalight viewer's top/back slot instead of the side slots, which works fine, and I eject the slides using the bottom right button. I hope this has been of assistance.
Tweezers may be used if shaking it upside down does not work.
You might be in possession of a zuma. My unit and package do not have the words "medialight" on them. It says it's DL- on the package or box. The unit is labeled Dl-SV3 by Dotline Corp., and the unit itself is labeled SV3 by Dotline Corp.
My screen is 2 3/4" square, according to my measurements.

I served in the Vietnam War and have thousands of slides from my time there. country. This is the first time in 35 years that I've looked at these slides! There are still a lot of memories. But, before I go into the final roll call, I thought I'd take a look at what was going on. I received the slide viewer, and it was exactly as advertised, if not better. Excellent construction! Worked perfectly right out of the box and provided more versatility than I anticipated. In any case, I began looking at the slides, and the more I looked at them, the more tears welled up in my eyes. But I only got through a few of them before calling it a night. Please accept my apologies for the strong feelings I've expressed. The viewer worked flawlessly, and the LED lighting did an excellent job of removing any moot spots. If you're looking for a high-end slide viewer, this is a great option. Excellent vendor service and a great product. I would strongly suggest it.
It can be placed on the tabletop to free up your hands, or it can be held in your hand. It's the perfect size, and it works a little differently than the smaller hand-held models, which has its own set of benefits. When viewing a slide, you usually hold it down with your finger. You can now see the image because the light is turned on. The light is turned on with a button on this viewer, and the slide is inserted into the slot for viewing. This frees up your hands and allows you to use the viewer with multiple people at the same time. When you're done watching, press another button to eject the slide into the tray below. Very ingenious and useful. It makes use of four double-sided tapes. A set of batteries, as well as a cleaning cloth, are included with the view. I just thought it was very thoughtful of you. br>Over the course of his 60-year career as an artist, my husband took thousands of photos of his work. There are hundreds of slides in this collection. He passed away recently, and I'm planning a tribute to his work, which leaves me with a mountain of slides to sort through. I considered using a carousel of slides to constantly display the work, but 1) I couldn't get the carousel to work, and 2) the lights in that room would have to be turned off, limiting my ability to do anything else in that room, so I opted for hand-held. I had already purchased two other hand-held viewers when I realized I needed more, so I bought two more of these. This product is of slightly higher quality, despite its slight differences in nature. I'm glad I decided to buy them.
This is a well-informed observer. a number of other buyers have given it a thumbs up It arrived quickly, the slides look great on this device (the light, magnification, and battery life are all excellent), and we love the 1950s/60s-era photos. Historically, era slides are prone to becoming stuck. My 91-year-old parents, still blessed with mobility, curiosity, and mental clarity, are using the device to review slides before moving on to the second phase - putting our parents' slides on digital media. the process of digitalization My father claims that he has sped up his review process by holding the slide in front of a lit viewer to get a sense of the subject; if it requires further review before deciding whether to digitize or not, he will actually place it in the viewer. Otherwise, the light is plenty to get the job done quickly. I'll need them to key in descriptions of the photo subjects, where the photos were taken, when they were taken, and what the occasion was after they've been digitized. This device is a necessary and cost-effective tool in completing this project if you don't have a working projector.
Old cardboard framed slides, like some of the other reviews mentioned, can get hung up on occasion. I was able to drop old slides through it without them hanging up by tilting the viewer toward me, so technique does play a role in how well it works. Bottom line: It helped me sort through hundreds of slides to determine which ones will be saved to a disk at a reasonable cost with minimal effort. The light source is perfect for viewing the slides and is not too bright, which would make viewing a lot of slides uncomfortable over time.
I purchased this to use as a slide viewer. I haven't had the opportunity to use this unit to view negative film, so I can't speak to that. br>br>As a slide viewer, it's well-made and of high quality, far superior to other units I've used. The image you're looking at is clear and bright. vivid. My only gripe is with the way slides are ejected from the viewer. The side can become stuck at times. The slide must be removed by tilting the unit. I discovered that pushing the eject bottom all the way in until the slide is in the tray is extremely important.
The unit is attractive, and installing the batteries and getting it up and running was simple. However, I only got to look at two slides before the unit became stuck with the third slide inside, preventing it from being ejected. I tried shaking the unit based on the advice of others. I had to use tweezers to get the slide out because it was stuck inside. I almost had to destroy the slide to get it out because it was jammed in so tightly. I tried three more times and had several more slides become stuck before concluding that the unit was ineffective for me. Either it's broken or it's poorly designed. I'm immediately returning it.
