What is the scanning quality of this device? How good is the scan quality?

It's worked for me on 35mm color slides. br>I have a setting that creates "TIFF" files with a high resolution. br>I also increased the dpi to a high level. These tiff files are usually between 35 and 60 megabytes in size. br>I then import them into photo editing software and make the necessary adjustments. Generally, many corrections are made to the original digital file.br>In the end, they are saved as "JPG" files with a size of 12 - 16 MB. 16 MB. br>Original Kodachromes have a nice look to them. Scans and saves are two words that come to mind when I think of scanning and saving That is all there is to it
3/5

As a scanner, it's fantastic. If not, it's pointless. Pluses () and minuses (-) are terms that are used to describe the positive and negative aspects ) follow: br> Scan slides quickly and save them to your computer. The slide tray has a great "through" design. br> Rotational and left-handed capabilities When inserting a slide backwards or upside down, use the right flip image. br> Gives you the option of selecting a pre-made template. For output, use an existing folder.
- You can't give your file a unique name. br>- The tools for adjusting brightness and color balance are rudimentary and ineffective. That necessitated the use of a different image program.
- There is no way to index slides by adding keywords, dates, or tagging people or places by name. For that, I had to use a different image program.

Software is of poor quality
3/5

I received my order in a timely and satisfactory manner. The order had arrived in good condition and had not been tampered with in any way. It detected the software (Kodak Digital Film Scan Tool) as containing malicious code when attempting to install it. ware. I tried installing the software on two different computers (both running Windows 10 and up to date), and both failed. I had to use my F-word to describe what I needed to do. Secure the program and keep it out of the Deep Guard malware scanner. To get the software loaded, you'll need to run aware. The program would lock up or drop out after about 30 minutes of use while scanning and saving slide pictures, requiring me to reload it. I've used a number of Kodak products in the past, but I've never seen such shoddy software testing. Because the software is the most important component of this package, I can only give it a 2 out of 5 rating.

THIS IS THE WORST FILM SCAN TOOL IN THE HISTORY OF FILM SCAN TOOLS
3/5

This is essentially a lightbox to view your negatives, as mentioned in a previous review. Check out the comparison image above to see how bad the quality is. com scans vs. this scan with the Kodak scan tool The images speak for themselves; if you're looking for a low-cost, simple-to-use tool, this is it. DO NOT BUY THIS IF YOU WANT TO DEVELOP YOUR OWN FILM AND SCAN IN HIGH QUALITY. In conclusion, while this product is extremely simple to use, it is not intended for people who want to scan their own film.

For the price, this is an excellent product
3/5

In general, this is a fantastic value for money product. The color adjustment option has been extremely useful in reducing the overall reddish hue as well as the occasional greenish cast seen in many of our 50-year-old photographs. 60 year- slides from the past Many older slides become stuck in the slide adapter, necessitating the removal of the adapter, opening it, and physically removing the slide, which can be time consuming and frustrating when scanning hundreds of slides. br>The software, I believe, allows you to scan up to 12 photos before saving them, which is convenient; however, the software? The program appears to have a timeout feature that forces it to rescan whatever slides were scanned and were in the queue at the time. However, the money saved by scanning these slides ourselves rather than sending them to LegacyBox or another service more than compensates for these inconveniences. The ability to share photos with family, many of which we had no idea existed, is well worth the $39. 99!.

It's incredibly simple to use, but it could benefit from more advanced photo editing options
4/5

This scanner is excellent for the price! It was incredibly simple to use, and the results were far superior to what I had anticipated. I've been slowly developing film that has been sitting neglected for 25 years, and this scanner is a much less expensive alternative to having prints made at a photo lab (which are few and far between these days). The only drawback I've found so far is the lack of advanced photo editing settings; you can adjust brightness, blue, green, and red levels. A "magic" or "auto adjust" setting would be extremely helpful. You can improve your photos if you know how to use photo editing software. (After scanning the negatives, I used my iPhone to edit the photos. ) Your results will, of course, be dependent on the condition of your negatives; I'm finding that some of mine are way too overdeveloped due to age, and there's not much you can do about it.

Slides and negatives are simple to capture
4/5

I used it to convert my parents' slides and my fading negatives from the 1970s to digital format. The device is in good condition. The device would occasionally shut down and then restart. I had the option of choosing where scanned images would be saved in a folder. I saved to an external hard drive that was connected to my computer. The image quality is comparable to that of the negative; however, I have photo editing software on my computer and will work to improve the image quality later.

It's quite effective
5/5

I've only had it for a few days and have only used it with color negatives, but it appears to be quite capable. The software is a little rudimentary (color balancing), but to be honest, I haven't given it much thought. It meets or exceeds my expectations in every way. It's simple to use and gives you the ability to make. In a matter of seconds, you can create jpg files. As a backup, I intend to digitize thousands of negatives. This appears to be the perfect solution for my basic requirements.
