You certainly can, as I did. However, the color is slightly off, and the photo is acceptable, but the photo isn't perfect due to the slight curve of the magnifier. The phone camera is completely still, but it's also a little blurry. It's not as clear as the original slide, but it's a less expensive way of luring them in.
The viewing screen is made of two pieces of glass. 75' X 2. 75". I haven't used it for film, but the pictures are clear enough for a slide.

Yes. Although the images are small, they are useful in determining what you want converted. Because the light is bright, it can be tiring on the eyes, but if you don't have a projector, it's better than nothing.

This is without a doubt one of the wiser purchases I've ever made. We didn't have a projector, so we couldn't see the thousands of old slides from the family. We needed to be able to look at the slides and decide whether or not to convert or remove them. Because they were old and had been stored for a long time, some of them had expanded as a result of the humidity. Those slides had a habit of becoming stuck, but they were not difficult to remove. The beauty of this device was that I could hold the slide up to the light and see what it was without having to put it in the viewer. I think it took me about 8 hours to finish the project.
The item came in slightly damaged packaging and, strangely enough, with batteries installed. and on the verge of death! Although the product claims to be "new," the damaged packaging and "dead, installed" batteries lead me to believe it is most likely a "repackaged return" being sold as "new. " Particulate from your slides also gets into the viewer. There's no way to get rid of the particles, so you'll have to live with them. When I contacted DIGITNOW about the packaging, battery situation, and lint issue, all I got was this response: "If the battery has been installed inside the product, please confirm whether it is a secondary sale product; if you don't like it, you can contact Amazon to return it. " Well, the sale documentation I provided clearly stated that it was not advertised as a secondary sale (uh, duh, maybe you should really look at what was sent to you). The question of cleaning it was never addressed. In the end, I replaced the batteries, and it now works well enough for me to edit my slides and decide which ones to digitize and which to discard. If you think you're going to get any real enjoyment out of it, think again. Put it out of your mind. and replace it with something else A larger screen will be necessary. This is a company I would not buy from again! And I didn't bother to send any photos - What's the point in wasting any more time on it?.
It's for sorting purposes only, not for public display. I didn't like having to use tweezers to remove old slides that had become stuck. But, hey, these photos are from the 1940s. The viewer is ideal for organizing slides before transferring them to a new format. So you can pass them down to your children and grandchildren, you know. You can bet they'll look at them and enjoy them on something like a thumb drive rather than an old Kodak Carousel projector. br>There is also a way to watch movies. I haven't started sorting color transparencies yet, but I'm excited to do so. I had considered discarding approximately a thousand miles of film due to the daunting task at hand. Now I believe I am capable of completing the task. Like the earthquake in Bakersfield, California in 1952, I'm sure there will be some surprises.

This small viewer is ideal for my requirements. I discovered boxes of old slides and negatives in the attic and wanted to look through them to see which ones I should develop, if any. Other reviewers expressed dissatisfaction with a number of issues that I did not find to be problematic: 1) Magnification deficiency: For me, the view was slightly larger and met my need for clearly identifiable images when making decisions; 2) Slides would occasionally hang up when pressing the discharge button (as with any device), but would fall out easily if the viewer was turned upside down while pressing the discharge button. 3) Negative strips are still visible as negatives, but they're easily distinguishable for my purposes. The most difficult problem is getting curly old negatives through the slot; however, changing the curl direction and trying both entry sides usually worked. Not the viewer, but the old, curly film is the issue. And, hey! It includes four batteries and is packaged in a small, sturdy box. This viewer comes highly recommended for slide identification, decision-making, and creating lasting memories.
Otherwise, it accomplishes its goal and is simple to operate right out of the box.
I tried it right away and have had no problems! I really like this viewer because it allows me to see years of slides that my mother has taken over the years. She died only a few months ago!.
The value for money is outstanding.
br>Thin cardboard slides are prone to jamming when inserted. Getting out of them can be extremely difficult. There was no way to undo the unit to remove a jammed slide, so I had to use a nail file hooked into the cardboard edge. It might work better if your slides were thick plastic, but I didn't have any to test. br>Optically, it was fine.
