There should be no problem with data transfer speed, but there will need to be a power supply for the external player. This external device should function if sufficient power is supplied to it.
I have no idea. At least not yet, I do not have my computer connected to the hub.
An USB port can deliver a maximum current of 0 A. A 5 to 0 ratio.
There is no charging support on this hub that's used primarily for data transmission.

The price is fair for what you get in terms of inputs. It has a port to connect to a power supply, which I didn't even realize when I bought it. I don't need a powered hub, so I would need to purchase a separately plugged power supply. The fact that it is an option is cool, and it probably helps to keep the price low. Besides the nice packaging, the hub also came with a lot of cool features. Due to its plastic build quality, and because it is lightweight, you wouldn't want to shove it around or step on it.
As a result of some manufacturers making it so easy to make multiple extended USB ports like this, I was astonished. Based on their ability to regulate the outputs at each slot, I was always concerned with these kinds of products. The thing seems to be running flawlessly so far. I now have SO MANY CONTROLLERS (less important) to plug in with friends over. I can now leave my drawing tablet, microphone, keyboard, wireless mouse, Elgato recorder, and many other devices all plugged in at the same time. THAT'S SO FREAKIN' COOL! All my other tech has a very sleek look to it too.
*Cheers to the manufacturer for an excellent product. If you need an extender with more USB ports, this is the device to choose.
A separate external hard drive and a separate external optical drive are available to me. My old hub couldn't handle one of them, and I changed the physical port it was connected to, but it made no difference. I had thought it was on its last legs because it constantly disconnected and reconnected. It didn't make a difference when I tried a different laptop. The problem might be with my old hub or the cable connecting it to the hub, but I thought that it might be with the drive. I did not report this issue to the administrator, but anyway, the hub did the trick. It appears that the speed of the transfer is excellent. Transferring from an external drive to another external drive has not been attempted.
LEDs are very efficient and do not emit too much light. It is only a downside that ports 4 and 5 don't work This is in fact the 4th port of the 1st internal hub, which is connected to a 2nd The device has seven ports and not eight, due to this reason. Furthermore, USB has a limited number of hubs designed to be used at a time. A statement like this ought to have been included in the item description and documentation.
The device has a port that you can plug in the power supply into, which I didn't realize at first. The unit is used for a variety of devices. As my laptop only has 1 USB port, this device makes it easy to connect my hard drive, keyboard, mouse, A sufficient space should be provided between each port so that wiring doesn't get tangled up. This product does exactly what it says it will do and at a great price too.
I can't connect to any Bluetooth devices when I have this plugged into my computer for some reason. Currently, I can't use my wireless earbuds while left plugged in to this USB device. I have not been able to figure out why this is happening and find a solution other than unplugging all my USB devices while actively using the Except for the above mentioned issue, the ports work fine.
I believe I have had it since the first of February. As soon as I first brought it home, I used it for about 2 years. It was kept for a week, but then it was thrown out. After trying it again, I noticed something odd once it had been plugged into a USB port of my laptop. If I plug it into a USB port on the computer, it makes the monitor disabled and won't work at all. It is undetermined what may cause that to occur, but I need BOTH of my monitors to be able to function, especially if I am using a hub like this.
There were far too few for me! There are so many extra ports now that I can plug in everything I need. My heart leaps for joy when I hear The simple way to do it. I really like this! I can plug in everything I need with the remaining slots left over when I plug this into my laptop.
