Fan adhering to the surface. Thus far, everything seems to be going well. An assembly like this one operates on its own Attaches to an AC68U/AC86U via an interference fitting with small nubs that slide into the back of the router's grill slots. I like this very much. It is great to have an air filter built in. The CPU temperature is reduced by 25 degrees even at a medium fan speed, which can be adjusted. The cooler has an adjustable fan speed too. There is one thing to watch out for, which is that when you set the fan speed too low, the fan tends to stall. In my experience, you must supply at least 1/3 of the fan's power in order for it to run. Because the router is in an extremely noisy room, there can be no comments on the noise level. The following is the update for Wednesday, March 21, 2019 Although I have set the speed control to full speed, I find the fan stalls after a short period of time. Upon turning down the speed control knob and then back up again, the fan appears to come back on. It happens even with the fan plugged into a dedicated USB port that supports very high power. It looks like I will be forced to go with a typical.
The fan has been running 24 hours a day since I bought it a year ago. I have found that it certainly cools the CPU of my ASUS RT-AC86U There is something special about AC68U routers. My thermometer reads 58 (I checked the temperature. 1) Having the ability to control the fan speed The stalling problem mentioned by another reviewer is not an issue for me. Half-speed is the speed at which I run the fan. I don't see the need to raise the bar. Because I have the router in an unoccupied area, I do not experience excessive noise from the fan. I would rate the fan as average in terms of noise level, so I'm going with a 4 star rating because of this It would probably be quieter if you replaced it with a Noctua fan (no idea if there is one that would fit), but I had no expectation of the level of quality in the I like the way this thing looks. There is nothing out of the ordinary, except that the USB cord may be a bit longer than I require. Besides that, I've also got options that look like they're straight out of "The Red Green Show. ". It is a great feature that it has a USB port so I don't need to buy another wall wart and I don't need a long cord. I'm very satisfied with the My recommendation would be to definitely consider it. There is so much potential here, but it doesn't quite get to 5 stars.
I purchased this at the same time as my router, but a few days later. It's on the back of the router, the outer edge meets the outer edge of the router, and I just taped it in place. This is an easy Although it's a loud fan, it's not too bad. When the crank is turned, I believe air moves. In the case of video or computer games, I'll raise it to the ambient volume media interruption level if home entertainment is a factor. -No filter elements are available. -Filter element is very flimsy. Due to this alone, I am docking a star. The foam will probably disintegrate very quickly because it is barely fastened, and there is small bits of metal fastened in the center.
I like the design of the product and it fits my RT-35 I have no problem using the AC68U! If you have multiple streaming devices and gaming consoles connected to your router, then this fan is a must have. It no longer feels warm to the touch when I touch my router! Either adjust the fan speed to high or low without any noticeable change in sound. My fan speed is set in the middle without any noticeable increase in sound. The product is extremely well designed!.
I was able to decrease the temperature of the router CPU by over 20 degrees F within 15 minutes of installing this. This one runs quiet, as well. The fan is turned on by making an automation in Home Assistant that turns it on and off at 130F when plugged into a USB AC adapter, which is plugged into a Tasmotized smart plug. Exactly what I needed.
It blows clean, filtered air into the router for a much longer period of time than the generic fan mods. It snaps on with no tools and uses no tools to install. Generic fan mods draw hot air out of your router, meaning you end up with dust inside your router in a very short time! It is very quiet and can be adjusted to your needs. Whenever I remember to adjust it, I barely notice it. If it lasts, then I give it a+++.
Also, if you want ultra-clean air into the inhale port, you could modify the inhale aperture and add some additional filters such as a bottle cap filter above the inhale port. Typically, when the fan is running, your router's CPU will drop in temperature by approximately 8 °C * 11 °C.
The fan worked great, and the temperature dropped by at least 30F. My body temperature dropped to 120F with this fan even at its lowest speed. It is a difference of 30F.
