Questions & Answers
The backlights can be seen clearly. However, rather than being advertised as crystal clear, the applied keyboard area actually becomes "foggy."
On top of this TPU cover, I've been using a Ghostcover microfiber keyboard cover, which works perfectly. There are no traces of the screen. When the lid is closed, it fits perfectly.
Make use of a sponge if you want to be extra thorough. the kind you'd use to clean your dishes with. However, you should use a separate sponge to wash this cover so that the dirt from the dishes does not transfer to it. Simply use regular dishwashing soap, warm or cold (but not hot) water, and gently wipe the cover from end to end, back and forth a few times with the other hand, while holding the cover down with one hand. Flip the cover over and repeat the process on the other side, then rinse with a gentle stream of water, shake off excess water, and lay flat to dry (both sides). It takes approximately three hours to complete. The time is 4 minutes. Every week, I do it.

Although this cover protects your keyboard, it also prevents your MacBook Pro from cooling properly because so much heat is dissipated through the keyboard, causing the fan to run much more frequently. This could lead to component failure in the future. It's the equivalent of covering your laptop with a blanket.
br>br>In addition, it is incompatible with newer computer versions from 2018. They use strange stickers to keep the keyboard from slipping. It's not working, and it's sliding and moving around. I'm not sure if that's why it left imprints on my screen that I can't remove. It's a little off! Now I'm trying to get Apple to replace the screen, but they believe I stepped on it. So disappointed in this company because it may have ruined my brand new computer!.
I discovered how loose it was on the edges and middle keys after applying it flat on the MacBook Pro keyboard, so I used the small adhesive strips that came with the protector. They worked well enough that pressing a key did not cause the protector to rise. It didn't, however, fix the fact that the keyboard cover is a tad loose. Other reviewers have mentioned how well it fits their MacBook Pro 15-inch, but I guess for my MacBook Pro 15-inch, it doesn't quite fit. With the Touch Bar on the inch, typing with this protector just didn't feel right. As a programmer, I value this because typing experience is crucial. br>br>To be fair, it's not entirely the company's fault; Apple is also to blame for designing these models with such a flat keyboard. Similarly, I have no intention of returning this keyboard protector and will keep it on hand in case I need it. Having a keyboard cover has obvious benefits, particularly for those who are meticulous about keeping their MacBook clean. One of the main reasons I made the purchase was because of this. However, because the added protection came at the expense of a pleasant typing experience, this isn't a product I'll keep on my MacBook Pro keyboard all day.
That philosophy wasn't really working for me after one 17" 2010 MacBook Pro, an inherited 2011 15" MacBook Pro, and multiple bluetooth keyboards, all of which were filthy beyond belief, and I wanted to do better for my brand new baby, the 13" touchbar MBP. I've never used a keyboard protector before, but this one appears to be working well so far. It fits perfectly on the butterfly keyboard right out of the box, comes off easily if I try but hasn't slipped, and makes the keys a little more grippy and a lot quieter. This is a small investment for this reformed device abuser to protect my new baby from my clumsy hyper mobile hands and everything they might spill. I'm not sure if it'll last, but so far it's been great!.
br>Here's some context: I'm a big fan of keyboard protectors, and I've had one (made by Moshi) on my 2009 MacBook Pro since day one. I was disappointed that there was no protector available when I finally upgraded to my 2016 Pro. I'm the proud owner of a cat. Is it necessary for me to elaborate? As fate would have it, it required service, and due to the highly integrated design of this model (not to mention the fact that the keyboard was never fully functional), the entire logic board-- which entails the use of a keyboard-- it was necessary to replace it Fortunately, I learned about UPPERCASE's GhostCover before sending it to Apple for service, ordered it, and installed it on my serviced Pro before turning it on. br>br>I couldn't be happier. br>br>As much as I liked my Moshi cover, I really like this one. It's a little thinner, but it's not flimsy. Its thickness is better suited to my typing pressure than the Moshi, and it feels better to me than the keys on this Pro (as a long-time Apple/Mac user, I find this Pro line a little cheesy). I've never needed to use the included sticky strip because the keyboard conforms perfectly. So far, the cover has remained in place and no ghost image has appeared on the screen. Above all, I have the impression that my Pro's internal organs are safe. There's no need to be concerned about fur, dust, or a stray crumb or drop of liquid ruining my pricey laptop. br>br>I strongly encourage all 2016/2017 MacBook Pro owners to make this small investment, and I thank UPPERCASE for making it possible. Now that I've had some practice with my Pro, I'm a lot more confident with it. I'm almost glad it broke because it gave me the opportunity to start over with a secure keyboard.
BEWARE. If you don't like the "grease" that appears on your Mac keyboard after you use it, I don't review products on the internet. too bad. There is no other option. br>This is probably the worst product you could buy for a $2000 computer. Permanent abrasions appeared on my computer screen after just two days of use. I am not an expert, but I 100% believe it is because the Mac cannot close properly when this product is on the keyboard. Apple makes their products in a reason. Instead of the computer closing and hitting the edges, you can feel the screen smacking against the keyboard cover. My theory is that small particles that could easily fall onto the cover become stuck while typing or using the computer, and are then pressed into the screen, causing permanent damage. The products of this company should be removed from Amazon, and Amazon should be embarrassed to carry this brand, as the average review is misleading. Before you go out and buy something, read it.
