Questions & Answers

It'll turn 3 if it stays like that. A desktop hard drive that's 5 inches deep can be turned into an external drive, can it be done? Thank you. ?

Using it with a 3 is fine for me. I used the external hard drive of my new G5 as an external drive. It works beautifully and I put my work on it. My laptop connects via USB to the device, and I transfer the files there. You don't need to unplug the hard drive to move it around just use the USB cable.

I see my SSD as a J Micron scsi disk device rather than a Samsung SSD in the Samsung migration program. What should I ?

Microsoft Windows 10 is supported by the most recent version of Samsung Data Migration for Consumer SSD software. The Samsung website has it available for download.

My mobile phone and my digital camera are both Bluetooth enabled. What cable would I need to move a 5 sata hard drive from my PS3 to my laptop?

As long as the PS3 hard drive is a standard SATA hard drive, it should work.

How well does this work for the early 2015 MacBook Pro with retina display?

There's no way to tell. It works on the Windows PC.

This is a good method

you are like me, you didn't read the instructions before plugging in. You'll find it under the Storage / Disk Management section of Computer Within a couple of seconds, your hard drives, including the new, unformatted drive, will appear at the bottom of the list. The blank partition can be formatted by selecting the right click menu.

I really like the way it worked! While upgrading the hard drives on my and my wife's MacBook Pros (HDD to SSD), I used this cable
5/5

As a novice, I really had no idea if I needed a sled that had the enclosure and such but I'm glad I took a chance! It wasn't a great experience for her, but her HDD suddenly went haywire (wouldn't boot and I tried everything to get it to work, including reinstalling the OS a couple of After determining that it was more of a logical corruption problem (vs. a physical problem with the drive) I reluctantly took it to a data recovery facility, which quoted me a huge amount of money to get the data back. When they asked me if I wanted the document, I said no, and told them to return it As early as the summer of 2012, I decided to upgrade our Mac's drives to SSDs since they are more stable than HDDs and bought this cable to help me with that. This cable seemed like a good idea, so I attempted to plug her old hard drive into it and see if it would read it as an external drive (thus I wouldn't have to start it manually). It worked! Well done! After migrating her entire user profile to the SSD, she was able to use it. The reason why that drive doesn't boot up is still a mystery to me, but this cable will save me hundreds over having to pay a data recovery company. One of the best things was how smoothly the profile migration went - it was like nothing changed except that the laptop is faster now that it has.

This cable makes connecting to an SSD easy, reliable, and convenient
5/5

Since I purchased two more of these in addition to this one, my love for this can't be contained. use a lot of SSDs and two laptop hard drives for different purposes all the time. Sabrent USB to SSD adapters are what I've been using to clone and backup all my new SSD and hard drives, which has been quite a bit in the last Sabrent SSD cables have been used by me on many different computer platforms, from laptops to at least six different desktop computers. Data transfer has never been a problem for me - with USB 2 or with my previous computer. There is no difference between USB 3. 0 and USB 2. 0. I/O interfaces are 0 in total. A review I wrote back then appears to have lapsed because I also purchased two other ones in April 2016. Having this be my third, and the only brand I have considered buying, is a terrific thing. Because of the longer cable length, it is an appealing product to me. As part of an SSD purchase a few years ago, I got a different connector whose cable was too short to even reach my desktop from my mid tower PC that holds an ATX motherboard. It was always a balancing act on top of my PC. The reason I purchased the two Sabrent SSD adapters in April 2016 was because of this need. There is only one thing to note connectors and cable interface can provide some traction, so make sure your disk drive is well supported during installation and the first few inches of the cable are securely attached. My general experience is that it is not an issue and I hesitate to bring it up in conversation. In fact, if I didn't already have so many, I would buy another one if I didn't have so many already.

This is the enclosure you need if you've had trouble with others
5/5

Recently, online stores have become swarming with 2. Due to falling prices in data storage, online stores increasingly carry 3. A disk enclosure with a 5" diameter. Since they all look the same and have roughly the same reviews, it is nearly impossible to determine whether an enclosure is a good one. Since today, I've gone through 3 separate enclosures (for my 1TB SSD), and each of them failed almost immediately after the return period ended. In the beginning, the enclosures all appeared to be cool, but then some part of the circuitry began to fail, leading to the drive becoming unusable. In my opinion, it's so difficult to produce a consistently functional enclosure that leaves one scratching their heads. I then decided to test this Sabrent cable and abandon the idea of a physical enclosure after those three failures. As of the time when I acquired the Sabrent device, it has been working without a glitch. After owning the car for a couple of months, I have had no problems. As a result, I recommend scrapping the idea of enclosures for good, and considering making your own with this cable (and some help from.

Having problems with permissions on Raspbian
3/5

With a SanDisk Extreme SSD used as an external drive on a Raspberry Pi 4 and Raspbian Buster, this appeared to work right out of the box. I was able to format the drive and transfer files without issue. The permissions on files and folders on this drive got wonky after every reboot, and some apps on the Pi would repeatedly pop up "access denied" errors when trying to rename or move, despite having We encountered the same problem with different drives The same drives no longer had these problems with another An enclosure powered by electricity). UPDATED So far, I have used these with three SSDs, a 2GB SSD, a 1GB SSD, and a 4GB SSD. Hard drive with a capacity of 5". Linux has never been a match for any of them. After formatting them properly and mounting them properly, they turn into "directory not found" errors when you try to use them. Using different cables and enclosures with the same drives is not a problem. Now that the return date has passed, I can't return. It does not make me The situation is regrettable They are great for racks, so I bought five of them You can mount Pi enclosures with ease to external drives. Perhaps one of these brands will work better, but the other four will be returned A total of five will be returned, but I destroyed one of the boxes when I opened it, so it may be useful in some way for It will be interesting to see how things turn out. Having to deal with this cable cost me three days of frustration Make sure you do not suffer the same fate.
