The build I used one of the cables, a few weeks after I added a second SSD, used one of the three cables. Then I installed my new SSD, checked all my connections, closed the case, and powered up my computer. Despite reinstalling Windows two times in the next four hours, I found myself still with one drive. There was definitely something wrong with the second cable, whatever it was, it was bad enough to crash Windows. After replacing these cables, everything is working fine for me now, and both drives work just fine without these cables, but not with them. This is junk.
A thousand words are not worth a thousand pictures in this situation. In contrast to the nylon braided over SATA cable, the plastic braid is hard instead of soft. They weren't flexible when I bought them, and I assumed that the braided cover would be. Do not get me wrong, it is a very high-quality cable, however I would have preferred a more flexible coating instead of a hard plastic one. We will have to wait and see if the product is durable and of high quality. You might want to look elsewhere if you're looking for them assuming that they're going to be very flexible. They are unlikely to be something I would buy again.
The pros are Cables like these look and feel like nice quality pieces. I was particularly drawn to their braided look and the added durability they provide. Despite the fact they are strong, I wouldn't worry much about them fraying on tight bends over time. Locking mechanism keeps them from coming off My P600S has a bit of trouble processing the length as it is, even though it is fine for most PCs. The cons are The can be somewhat tricky to bend into tight spaces, after hooking them up it was a bit of a struggle to get them to a storage place out of the way. The connector is also very snug I am used to SATA cables clicking right in, but these require a bit of additional pressure to secure, so it was a little difficult to do without removing Although they won't emerge on their own if that is the case.
As far as SATA cables are concerned, there is not much to note. Although they are locking type, which is always nice, the screws are a bit stiff for custom PC builds because they are made to be durable. There was some difficulty getting these to bend into tight spaces, which was a challenge that slightly less bulky cables could have made easier. The bottom line is that, if you can get them into the positions you need, these cables are extremely useful.
As a first step, they perform the tasks. Connect them to your SATA devices as well as your SATA power source, and they will I rated this cable four stars based on its STRETCH rating since it looks and feels like regular SATA cables with the traditional hard plastic insulation over which someone put the black brained sheathing. Although nothing wrong with it if you are after that look, as I was, I also thought they would have made a truly custom cable rather than braiding a regular SATA cable with braided sheathing.
It took me less than an hour to replace all the cables in an 8-year-old server running on a shared network A facility where the company is located. Flexible enough to wrap around fans and other bricks in a tricky 1U server layout was the key to my needs. The SMART errors on these drives were caused by failing plastic wrapped cables one of which was causing drives to report errors. This was incredibly easy to replace. In the future, I will use two sets of 3 in different colors (red and green) in order to make it easier for the smart hands folks to identify them.
We don't have much new to report. It works, it holds its shape, and the color matches one of my other blue cables quite well. It would have been nice if the listing had said 3 paks. I was the only one to show up. So I have not used it with my drives, nor have I installed them. This threepak was for my RWB patriotic build, since I needed two, and I would have an extra for the third. I used the one that came in this build, and it came out great, keeping form fairly well, and allowing me to build around it before it was secured There is a possibility the other 2 cables will magically appear in my mail one day. The chances of ordering more are unlikely, so I guess I will need to order it elsewhere.
I bought these for my build (I might upload a picture later) they helped make the whole thing look cohesive. I really like how they look and are very comfortable to work with, as they are quite firm (though not quite as firm as I expected). The mesh around the sata appears to be plastic. There is a rough feel to the wrapping, and it does not seem glossy.
