In short, yes. Basically, it is a female connector on one end and a male connector on the other end. There is no parallel cable between these two components.

The program works with Mach 3! The first straight through cable with 25 wires is here! For the past months, I have been trying to use mach3 on an old do pc with a parallel port but I haven't been able to due to the parallel cable not having any standard

Trying to trouble shoot my first cable, it took me over a month to figure out one had only 13 wires and the other was backwards (pin 2 in went to pin 7 out). What in the world was that person's idea? The cable has been purchased and the pins have been checked to make sure that it is a straight-through connection. This new cable allowed mach3 to start working immediately. Although it is embarrassing to admit that the problem was caused by the cable the whole time, thank you for making a cable with 25 wires and 25 pins. I am using a cheap BOB TO XP PC running Mach3 and it works great.
