It was the first t450 track pad I found online (in June 2019) that seemed to be an authentic Synaptics model. There are a lot of fakes on Amazon and eBay. In order to ensure it functions properly, I'm looking forward to installing it in my T440p. The one I received looks legit. A follow-up update will be provided. Be sure to check your synaptic settings. The laptop's part was easy to drop in - just disassemble the laptop and drop it in I recommend you look for tutorials that explain how to take apart the palm rest instead of replacing your trackpad for the T440p. You'll get the job done much faster. Once the synaptic drivers have been downloaded, install them. Due to something relating to the registry, some of the buttons will not function out of the box. Please look up Nick Heim's t440p trackpad and follow his instructions for making a REG file (copy and paste into a text file, save in the correct format) and run it to get all buttons working. The registry does not need to be accessed by you. I like this method because it works well. As a child, I loved the lenovo clunkpad because it was smooth as silk. It didn't occur to me how much more comfortable I am with a laptop now that I got rid of my original trash This is a 100% approval.

An authentic synaptic structure can be seen in the photos. This is a cheap imitation that I received. However, the quality is poor, and it does not run on Linux It's pretty hard to use this track pad as a gesture controller.

Although I was hesitant to buy this touchpad after reading the reviews, with people complaining of responsive issues, I ended up buying it anyway and I am The device is plug and play, so there's nothing else you need to do. The software worked perfectly right away on my Thinkpad W541. I did not need to install any additional drivers. I find that this touchpad is just as precise and responsive as my original. There may be something wrong with this touch pad, but I encourage anyone having problems to try other avenues. I haven't had any issues after over 50 reboots and over a month.

As a replacement for the trackpad which did not have independent buttons but a big trackpad that offered many buttons, I purchased this. For about a year, it worked well however, one of the mouse buttons stopped working and is now useless. Trackpads have been a feature of many different Thinkpads I have used. As a result, this product appears to have fewer features in comparison with the OEM part. I hope to get an OEM part this time.

There is a way to do it. Lenovo laptops use this touchpad in place of the same crappy one in their laptops, although the way it was designed was It would have been a better idea for me to get a replacement with actual buttons instead of the whole pad as a big button. As far as this task is concerned, it seems to work fine.

It was because other reviewers indicated that there were no additional drivers needed for a Lenovo T450S that I decided to purchase this trackpad. You will NOT find a cable included with this item, so make sure you remove and reinstall your old cable carefully. Installing the trackpad was complex, and most of the videos on the Internet only showed it being installed in some other model besides Having to remove and install the keyboard proved to be the most challenging part for me, and again, the videos are missing many important but tiny I broke a cable in the process, so I had to install a new keyboard. The old keyboard was dirty and had minor problems, however, so not a big deal.
