I bought it to use with Davinci Resolve 17 for video editing. The hardware is fine, but the programming software is not. Presets for Resolve can be downloaded, but they aren't permanent - Instead, the presets are reset to "Global" when I close and reopen the setup program. Furthermore, the software's primary focus is never on resolution. focuses on the explorer all of the time exe. Even if it worked perfectly, it would be a letdown. I was hoping to scroll through the I was hoping to set the speed of the center wheel to really fast so that I could scroll through a long timeline really quickly without having to zoom out. But no - That is the only aspect of the system that cannot be programmed. What's the point of it if it only moves one frame at a time, and each wheel and button only simulates keystrokes? I can do everything I can with my mouse on my keyboard without having to use another device. The only reason I gave it two stars instead of one is because the hardware is attractive and functional if you don't try to change the global settings. It's going back to you.
Drivers that are more than ten years old will not work with OSX.
" I'm not sure why I was required to rate the "Quality of material," "Thickness," and "Sheerness" LOL - It's not like I'm going to put this on and wear it like a garment, or a fig leaf, in this case; )br>br>As a computer device, this thing runs smoothly on my Windows 10 Pro for Workstations 64-bit system. It has saved me countless hours of video and audio editing. I do a lot of audio editing and recording, and I'm getting into 4K video and photography now. It's compatible with all of my editing software, including Vegas Pro 18, Sound Forge, Wavelab, and Davinci's Resolve. It is something I strongly suggest.
I wasn't expecting a 2 lb, ultra-lightweight product on a product like this, but Hand-machined and balanced jog wheel with a light touch. However, I was hoping for something that would spin without requiring a lot of force on the wheel. br>br>In order to avoid losing grip, I believe it takes about 3x the force downward than it should. The detents SHOULD be crisp, and the Jog wheel SHOULD spin easily. br>br>It's not bad, but if you've ever used professional-level gear, this might be awsome. br>br>However, I do use it with Premiere, and it works well. The Shuttle wheel, on the other hand. br>br> It doesn't use any functions in premiere; it simply sends repeated frames right or left as if you were rolling your mouse's scroll wheel. br>br>It's not bad, but it's only worth the money I paid for it.
While I was waiting for the perpetually backordered DaVinci Speed Editor to arrive, I discovered that it can be used for a lot more than just video editing. It's something I use in Audacity, CAD programs, GIMP, and even some games and simulations. This was well worth the $60 USD. br>Now that the Speed Editor has arrived, I use this device in conjunction with my Stream Deck. This is a powerful combination. br>Do I think this is something I'd recommend? I would, in fact. I understand that only having five buttons seems limited, and there are times when I wish I had a few more. The ability to program them to do almost anything, on the other hand, opens up a world of possibilities. The inner wheel and outer ring can be programmed as well. All you have to do is be a little creative when creating profiles for it. br>I'm thinking about ordering another one for a different PC in the house. This is something I really enjoy!.
