Questions & Answers

What kind of a gift would you recommend to a budding 15 year old art major who plans to become an artist? For example, an iPad (not pro) and Apple pencil. ?

Get the iPad even if everyone else tells you not to. According to you, the iPad Pro wasn't on the horizon. An iPad other than the iPad pro will not work for an artist, as the pencil can only be used with This immediately eliminates the option of using an iPad. With the iPad pro 12, I am fully immersed in technology. I love my Samsung Galaxy Note 9 3rd Gen. Similarly, I also own a Wacom 24" HD, and I'm quite pleased with it. It would be unfair to compare the two devices because both are excellent and can accomplish what they are intended to do very The question you asked was very specific to a 15-year-old who wants to major in art in the future. This means I will give you a specific answer Almost every art major studying in the digital world needs to have a knowledge and skillset in On the iPad, Photoshop is not a full and complete application. Despite its very good art program, Procreate, which is great and I love using it, the program will not replace Getting your 15-year-old an iPad and letting him work in Procreate for three years before switching to a wacom and learning Photoshop in college is not the smartest move. Get your kid a wacom, a computer (preferably a Mac), and It is possible for him to learn this during the next 3 years, and when he is in college, he will be far

You can use paint tool sai on it, can't you?

To use the Cintiq 16, you will need to connect it to a computer running either Windows or Mac. In the case that you are running creative applications such as Paint Tool SAI on the computer hosting the Cintiq 16, the software will be compatible.

Do you have to connect your tablet to the computer to work on it?

You ask a great question, thank you. In order to utilize the tablet, it must always be connected to the computer. Our MobileStudio Pro would be a good choice for you if you are in need of a standalone device.

How can the Cintiq 16 be connected to the existing VESA mounts for the Ergo It is free to download and install (such as AmazonBasic Lift Engine What about the mounting system)?

Based on the connection plate on each arm, screw sizes are different between Cintiq 16 and Cintiq 16-I. The Cintiq 16 uses the 75 x 75mm VESA standard. This tablet has a screw depth of approximately 5 mm. A 7mm screw.

With out the additional accessory, it is not possible to mount on VESA
3/5

So far, the performance of this product has been better than I could have expected in the short time I've used it. very natural and effortless to use, and there's no fiddling with settings in an attempt to get it to feel right and still being off like I've experienced with imitations in the past. Even though the screen isn't top of the line, the matte coating looks nice and offers a nice texture. Although there is a slight parallax when you look for it, it isn't noticeable when you are looking at it directly, and didn't interfere with my ability to draw. When I switched from a 22" imitation to the 16", I was a bit worried that it would feel too small but it felt fine very quickly. The 16" appears to be smaller, but it was not overwhelming. A thin and light design allows you to carry it throughout your travels (if you could find a bag to fit Wacom's Pro line has some compromises to offer a Cintiq at this price point but if you can't spend $1000 more on the same screen size as the imitations I've used then the Cintiqs are worth it. That being said, the product I have had with this one has been an extremely frustrating experience, leading me to seriously consider The Cintiq 16 has 75mm VESA pattern on the back, whereas the Pro 13 does not. I do not have room on my desk for a tablet display, and the Cintiq 16 is cheaper than the Pro 13 by the same amount. I looked for reviews sponsored by Wacom that confirmed this display could also be mounted on a VESA wall mount, and that helped me decide this model was the right one. The standard screws don't go all the way into my monitor arm when I try to attach it. The only reason this is happening is that an Amazon listing for the optional stand has a single line on it about mounting to a VESA arm by accident while trying to figure out the reasoning for it. Now I go back to the Amazon listing and to Wacom's product page but I find very little mention of this stand, to say nothing of the fact it would be needed since it might come with a spacer of about 2mm in diameter. The fact that you couldn't tell from a glance would not even occur to you if you never intended to buy that stand (and even then it still wasn't particularly accessory that costs $80, but will not be delivered for 2 weeks There is no reason to require a minimum of 3 months in order to mount this completely flat backed display using the otherwise standard mounting points. A third and equally large complaint is one that cannot be resolved with an accessory because one doesn't exist. In general, I like the concept of the 3in1 cable, but if it's less than 6 feet, I don't think it'll really work. If I ran the cable around the back of my desk with all the others, it would barely reach from where my computer is on one side of my desk to where the arm is on the other side. The power cord is perhaps 15 inches long, and I can't even swing it in front of me without purchasing third party extensions for the USB and HDMI. Conversely, the three parts of the power cable (3 in 1, brick, wall cable) are roughly five inches long. The length of the total walkway is 18 feet. When the product is a premium product where there are going to be a lot of differences in home and professional use cases, Wacom couldn't even offer a 10' version of the cable or switch to USB-C The other models of this series have a C interface. Once again, this is not a reflection on the tablet's drawing capabilities, but on what I have experienced in the entire Wacom product experience and how it works, or does not work, for me based on these unfortunate decisions.

Definitely an upgrade over a Intuos Pro tablet
5/5

The Cintiq 16 provides a drastic improvement over a tablet like an Intuos Pro. This is a good thing The iPad Pro and Apple Pencil interfaces are similar, but the screen has much better surface feel. Despite the fact that it's not as smooth as glass, I won't say that there's paperlike resistance. I like it just the way it is A lot more sensitivity has been added to the new pen than to the old ones. When I first felt it, I didn't think it would be meaningful to me. As a result, I don't have to push as hard when I turn down my pressure sensitivity. However, that means I have a better range within which I can work! I find it fascinating. I do not mind not having touch input, but for others it may be an issue. As a matter of fact, the screen size fits my needs exactly. Despite being only 1920x1080, that works for me because my laptop cannot output higher than that. The monitor doesn't seem to be as bright as a lot of other monitors, so it would probably work It's not a bright room with lots of sunlight. While I did not purchase the stand, the included legs are enough to support the device. (Be sure to open them completely so that they snap into place. Otherwise, you haven't gone far enough if they don't open slightly outward. )*I sometimes As a result of the size, it is easier to use my keyboard in conjunction with It was nice to have a really large Cintiq, but it was too big for me. Despite a rating of 5, I believe the screen is a 5 for the price. I'm sure higher end screens have more accurate colors, but this one does the trick. I own an iPad Pro 12.
As for what I own, I own an iPad Pro 12. I'm sticking with my i9 and it's got Apple Pencil This is one of the things I use more often. Oh, I see that now It does appear that there is some Initially, it took me a little while to get used to calibrating the settings to match my needs, but now it isn't a problem. Don't be surprised if some appear. My error is probably between a sixteenth and an eighth of an inch, but not enough to cause a problem or As a result, we can conclude It might appear to be a downgrade for someone who is used to a higher end Cintiq tablet, but it would be a phenomenal improvement over someone who is used to It was a good purchase for me.
