Questions & Answers

What is the purpose of the strangely shaped packaging in the picture? Is it a holster that can be used with a smartphone?

The old tip can be removed from the tip holder's bottom. Because you can't pull them out with your fingers, this method works extremely well. This is a clever way of combining the new tips and tool into one package.

Is it possible to use the nibs with the Surface Pro 3 pen?

These aren't for the Surface Pro 4; they're for the Surface Pro 4's successor. The Surface Book pen is not compatible with the Surface Pro 3. If you need interchangeable tips, the new Pro 4/Book pen is the way to go. Aside from that, the new pen has a total of 1024 pressure levels (Pro 3). 256) and is, in general, a better choice.

Is this compatible with the latest Surface Pen?

Yes! It's ideal for my situation.

Does this work with a book pen that has a flat surface?

Yes, the Surface Book Pen is exactly what they were made for.

The ideal substitute
5/5

The supporting plastic on my original nib broke off, so I bought the 4x HB replacement nib set. Writing with that was like writing with a floppy pencil, but the new nibs are set deeper into the supporting tube and don't appear to be as prone to breaking, instead simply wearing down with use. I use a Microsoft Pen model 1776 in black, which has one side button, an eraser/button, and no clip. in the attachment These nibs fit perfectly, the tweezer tool was simple to use (you simply pinch the original nib with the split plastic end of the nib case), and the writing feels as good as it did when the pen was new. br>br>The only drawback is that this product is a little pricey for just a few pieces of plastic, but I'll overlook that because: (1) The quality is identical to the original, and (2) you can purchase a four-pack of HB nibs at once. I'm interested in trying out the fancy multipack at some point, but for now, this is exactly what I'm looking for.

When you write on the surface, they feel fantastic
3/5

When you write on the surface, they feel fantastic. Definitely superior to the SP3 model that preceded it. The plastic covering around the rubber tip is my biggest complaint. If you ever drop the pen, it's almost certain that the tip will break, exposing the rubber. It might still work, but it'll look terrible. I've seen a lot of people who have the same problem. I just wish it was more durable or, at the very least, included a pen cover next time, so I'm deducting two stars for that.

Owners of the Surface Book: If you're an artist, this is the one to get; while the feel is different, I keep coming back to the original tip
4/5

PRO: br>br>PRO: br>br>PRO: PRO: PRO: PRO: PRO: PRO
- There are four options to choose from, one of which is an original and is ideal for replacing a worn-out tip. out tip.
- The tip carrying case also serves as a tip removal tool, which is a cute design idea.
- well- Because of the colored markings, it's easy to tell which tip is which. br>br>CON: if you're looking for a unique way to express yourself, this is not the place
- While the differences are noticeable, they are minor and unlikely to be significant. I like them all for slightly different reasons, but the differences are so minor that they have no bearing on my stylus usage.
- Given that there are only four tips included, it is a bit pricey. It's made up of extremely small plastic pieces. They could have included two or three of each of them and still profited handsomely.
- Wearing out tips takes a long time. It's possible that it's as long as your own surface. Unless you write almost every day and use a lot of pressure, you may never need this product. br>- It was more of a novelty than something truly unique.

With some workarounds, it can be used with the Surface Pro 3 pen
5/5

On the Microsoft website, there is some ambiguity about this toolkit. "Compatible with Surface Book, Surface Pro 4, Surface Pro 3 and Surface 3," according to the product description. In some ways, that statement is correct. It means that on a Surface Pro 3, it will work with the Surface Pro 4 Pen. br>br>I didn't realize it wasn't going to fit in my Surface Pro 3 pen until I tried to use it (my fault). But! I was able to get them to fit after some Jimmy rigging. br>The tip that came with my Surface Pro 3 pen has joints and is, in some areas, smaller in diameter than the Surface Pro 4. The tips included in this kit for the Surface Pro 4 are smooth and do not have any joints. Thankfully, they're both the same size. I assumed that because the surface pro 4 tip is thicker, it wouldn't fit and lock into place. I used my surface pro 3 pen to mark where the last joint would begin on the surface pro 4 tips. I used an exacto-knife to carefully cut out an exacto-knif blade and trimmed the thickness of the tip by about a third of its length until it was about the same diameter as the surface pro 3 tip. The bottom of the tip was able to go all the way in as a result of this. I then wrapped it in PTFE Thread Seal tape to keep it from wriggling during use. br>br>It was a pain to do, but it was well worth it because these are far superior to the pen's original tip.

It's great to have a variety of things to choose from
4/5

My favorite pen tip is obviously the one that came with the pen originally, "the HB," which I thought was really nice to have. So, this kit essentially gives you a spare, which is useful to have. My other favorite is the "B," which has a higher sensitivity and is softer. This gives the impression that you're writing with a pen! In class, I usually take notes with a pen and paper, so the "B" tip felt exactly like writing with a regular pen! The best part is that, unlike a real pen, it does not smear ink all over your hands. These tips were incredibly simple to remove and replace; the only caveat is that you must twist it back into place when locking it into place, or the pen will not function.

A good substitute
4/5

So I bought these because I draw a lot on my Surface Pro 6 and needed replacement nibs when my current one wore out. In general, these are very similar to the one that came with the pen when I purchased it. It still feels and reacts the same, so there's no issue there. The only issue I had was that these nibs did not have an indent like the ones that came with the pen, making them a little more difficult to install and replace. Because both surfaces are smooth plastic, the clip that comes with it to help you seat and pull the nibs out simply slips off. Because of this, you'll have to remove the nibs with your nails or metal tweezers, rendering the pinch clip nearly useless. Aside from that, these are excellent Surface Pen replacement nibs.

Get it
5/5

Oh my god, go ahead and buy it right now. In comparison, the pen's standard nib is a shambles. The majority of the nibs work in the same way, which I don't mind. I was blown away by how much smoother my lines glided with these nibs than with the pen's original. Because I'm an artist who uses my surface for storyboarding, it's critical for me that the lines be as accurate and simple to draw as possible. Although it isn't a Wacom, the new nibs have given my Surface Pro a whole new lease on life. If you're an artist, you should get these right away. It also significantly reduces the amount of skipping.
