This is your fifth year. In March 2017, I bought my first batch of Optical Quantum and burned them. This is a zero-coaster system. I think this is fine. Added ten more spindles to my order. Occasionally, I will plug the disc into my computer to check what videos I already have or to copy back a few videos I have. My life has been fine until now. This month, August 2019, I needed to retrieve a few important documents. My old phone had these files, and I no longer have it.
Initially, the drive read the disc just fine, but then it locked up about halfway through. My initial inspection of the disc involved ejecting it. It came as a shock to me to find that nearly half of the disc had After checking the other discs, I checked the others as well. A wide range of disc rot is evident on many of them. I numbered the discs in serial order, and the level of rot is greatest on the earliest burnt In burned areas, the rot always appears to start from the outside in and seem to occur only on burned areas. There is a lighter shade and less reflection on the rotten area. My theory is that the aluminum reflective layer has discolored due to oxidation. To keep this short, I spent the next few sleepless nights mass migrating back to HDD from my BD drives. The recovery of lost data must be done from other sources. The best thing is that I discovered an old HDD containing most of my important files, which I had forgotten about. In order to back up this, I have purchased another hard drive. I feel quite disappointed with the quality of the game. The 11th spindle of Optical Quantum has been flushed into There's more money than $200 there. I don't want to buy cheap brands any more. This is my second spindle, the first spindle I bought was perfect, with no coasters. Currently half way through this spindle and there are no issues. I read a review that trashed this brand, but my experience with the brand has been positive. The reviewer might want to check his hardware
As a professional video producer, I use these discs for proofing & editing. For the most part these discs have been reliable until I sent them to the replication house in file form for mass duplication So far, so good. If one does come across a 'bad batch', I will update, but so far, so good.
