If you want a loud speaker with no hissing noise and one that isn't too expensive, this is the USB speaker to get. It's a fantastic performer. This speaker is not cheap, and it isn't nearly as fancy as some of the other options, but it is a fantastic value. It has made me very happy. I needed to replace a small Bose speaker I'd been using as a computer speaker for my Mac Mini with an external monitor (Dell) that didn't have any speakers. Of course, the Bose sounded fantastic, but it has two flaws in this application for me. 1) It has a lot of bass, and 2) it turns itself off after a while. I've had several longer zoom meetings where I thought someone was on mute, but it was actually my speaker. br>br>I bought this speaker for that reason. I needed something that would not time out and would do the job of a basic computer speaker. In this application, my goal isn't to have a great sound system. I don't want a tinny sound, but I do want something decent. I don't require a lot of bass, but I also don't want it to be too light. This is a speaker who is truly exceptional. It has the essential controls, and it connects to my Mac via USB (select USB 2) without a hitch. 0 sound output speaker), and we're off. My Mac's volume controls are excellent, and the speaker's volume up and down and mute buttons are equally effective. (The results are the same whether you use the Mac controls or the speaker controls. ) br>br>Without having to put up with tinny, crappy sound, this is a nice small size. It received a lot of positive feedback, so I'm going to add my own. It was instantly activated after plugging it into a USB port, has good solid sound for my slightly deaf ears, and is small and compact, with a longish cable to allow it to be placed in various locations near my laptop. I'm overjoyed and intend to purchase another for my mother. The packaging was made of a soft bubble-wrapped material. enclose the envelope - Although I would have preferred a box for better protection, it arrived in perfect condition.

4th: To be fair, the USB ports on my desktop computer could be malfunctioning. When I use USB to connect my phone to my computer, it frequently shuts down without warning. I put the speaker to the test before using it with my laptop, and it worked perfectly (20 minutes of testing). I had the same problem with another mouse that only worked on occasion, so it's possible that the problem is with my USB ports or drivers due to its age (though my Logitech mouse worked perfectly fine). br>br>I also tried it on my HP laptop from around 2018 and it worked. I played the same 15-minute clip over and over again, and it stayed on the screen the entire time.
