When combined with the Unifi controller, this is a smart managed Gigabit switch. It has 5 RJ45 Ethernet ports, allowing you to connect your devices at 1 Gigabit speeds. Although I have not tested it, I am confident that it can be used as a basic unmanaged Gigabit switch in any environment. But why would you want to do something like that?

Don't be fooled into paying $47 for this switch or any other ridiculously high price that sellers may try to extort from you.
However, $29 should be the price. This small change has made me very happy. It met the demand for a small, desktop-friendly Unifi Managed switch. However, I was careless and paid more than the manufacturer's suggested retail price of $29, but Ubiquiti was already sold out. br>br>This one does not have a wall mount, but its small footprint makes it ideal for use as a countertop or desk. The bottom has a rubberized surface that helps it stay put, and it comes with a USB port. I needed a C charger with a long enough cord to reach my UPS power strip without using any extensions.
The Unifi Controller software is used to configure this small gigabit switch. If your network is primarily UniFi, this is extremely useful. This compact switch is energy efficient. STP/RSTP isn't supported, which is a major flaw. For network loops to be avoided, the spanning tree protocol is required. This is especially important when using hardwired connections to connect Sonos speakers (and other smart devices). Because this switch blocks STP, you can't have more than one speaker hardwired in your network. This basic standard is supported by even the cheapest Netgear switches, which also lack any mounting holes or hardware that is standard for switches. Fortunately, the device is very light and can be mounted with double sided tape if the cables do not cause too much torque.
Anyone up for a 20 Gigabit connection? ugh), if I only needed a couple of extra ports to connect a few non-critical devices. I'm thinking about buying a $10-$20 worth of essentials. 15 swap or go into the office and take one from the return cart (KIDDINGGGGG). br>br>When Ubiquiti announced a 4-year subscription, I jumped at the chance. It's incredible that someone could create a port-managed switch that could be ingested into the controller and managed from a single location for $25. The fact that it can be charged via USB is a major plus. It comes with a C power adapter, but what about POE? What a shock! br>br>So far, everything has gone smoothly. I needed some additional ports on my desk, and my home office's main switch was completely full. If you need anything else from Ubiquiti's store to qualify for free shipping, get it there for $25. At around $40 on Amazon, it appears to be a little overpriced. br>br>One thing to keep in mind is that your controller firmware/software must be current, or the device will not be recognized and managed.
USW- UniFi Flex- Mini, a. k. a. the travel switch you've been fantasizing about while lying in bed with your SO, who thinks you're thinking about other people. br>br>For a long time, I've been looking for a switch that I could carry in my bag that would only power USB ports, and my search has finally come to an end. Here's how I put the Flex Mini to the test: br>br> br>br>I connected a USB 3A to the Flex Mini's USB C port, then to my laptop using USB3A. The light turned on as soon as the switch was turned on. The Flex Mini was then connected to my laptop, Home LAN switch, PS4, Pie3, and Nintendo switch. Each connected device registered a 1 GB connection and passed all speed tests. br>br>Prosbr>- br>Lightweight- A laptop's USB port or a POE connection can be used to power the device.

I could have gotten it from ubiquiti directly for less money, but I needed it quickly. br>br>I have a small switch on my desk that connects my desktop, laptop, and Raspberry Pi. It can be powered via Power over Ethernet, which is why I purchased it. br>br>This small switch is daisy chained from a us-based switch. 150 - > us- > Mini flex. The Unifi software makes setup and management a breeze. I enjoy creating custom VLANs, making changes, and monitoring traffic as a user of Unifi on my home network. br>br>Because it's a managed switch, it knows where to send the data (because it knows which device is connected to which port). Data is duplicated and sent to all ports when using an unmanaged switch, wasting bandwidth. As a result, because it's managed, this switch is fantastic! br>br>I like how small and POE-ready the switch is. powered! A USB C cable was included, though. Because my network is powered by POE, I put it in storage.
Because of the PoE and management features, I decided to purchase this. Some switches appear to support PoE, but not all. The switch will not be adopted by the network controller. That is to say, I am unable to perform remote device administration or collect detailed diagnostic data. After some research, it appears that this switch has a known issue. I expect the switch to work because it costs roughly three times as much as a traditional five-port switch. It will be returned to you.
